There is nothing about the ku game this week.  Not one thing.

It's no wonder many of the students are so apathetic towards athletics.  IN 200-03 there would be articles on upcoming games every day in the paper, they used to fire me up.  Telling students to get out and be loud.  Where is that now???  Been this way for a couple of years now as I still read the paper pretty regularly.  Athletes read this too, they need to here it from the people on campus how big this game is.  They need to create a buzz.  Players from texas do not know how important this is to people from kansas.  The collegian needs to do a better job of promoting that.

Huge game coming up.  Possible 8 win season, second place in the north, win over rival, Alamo bowl, and the collegian can't put anything together to fire up students.

How about a how to article on buying tickets to the game?

How about trying to set up a caravan to paint lawrence purple?

NOTHING!  THE COLLEGIAN SUCKS.  I really think they are nothing more that jock hating journalism major posnanski wannabe's.

Seriously.  How can you be mad at anything involving KSU athletics at this point?

Am mad at student newspaper, not athletics.  Not as much mad as dissapointed.

Go back and imagine my first post with a dissapointed emoticon and not the red angry face.

Relax. They don't have much to go on. Press conference is today, so they'll have something in tomorrow. They ususally save all their stuff up for their big "Gameday" insert on Fridays, though. It's always a nice package, but I agree in the sense that football is THE thing happening from Sept.-Nov. and there should be a story at least four of the five days a week.

As an argument, I'll point out that their not supposed to be "fans" at the Collegian and try and "paint Lawrence purple", etc. Of course, many of them are...and some of them are hard to take seriously because of it.

Thanks, I struggle with Spanish.

I worked at the Collegian for one semester four years ago and probably would have stuck around had The Eagle not offered the six-figures I'm pulling in now (I'm joking, of course). I hear the "Collegian sucks" every day at least once, which is fine. I couldn't really care less. I read it everyday, and it doesn't offer a ton, I'll admit. However, what does it "suck" compared to? Are we comparing it to the Mercury, The Eagle, the Star? The Collegian of yesteryear? Or other student publications? It gets consistently recognized up against other student pubs across the country as one of the best, according the plaques in Kedzie Hall.

Gotta remember that they're just students working there, most of which have never had any newspaper experience prior to being hired, that goes for the writers, photogs, designers, etc.

Why did they ever redo the website, the old one was fine, the new one is Dan Hawkins.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.
