Saying UT's pass D was no good and we attacked them that way.

Didn't we have to throw because nobody can run the ball on Texas consistently?

Anyways Tex always has some of the best players. Yeah they lost a few in the draft last year but were they getting toasted in the air by everyone?

KK takes the air out of the victory.

Texass was ranked #105 in pass defense coming into the game...  EVERYBODY had lit them up thru the air this year.

It was no secret.

Ya you really have to hand it to KK's in-depth analysis this time...

KK = Over paid Airbag

It's entertainment and ratings, douchenozzles. He's got a crap eating grin behind that microphone. You guys sure are sensitive. Would you rather have him or ku homer Danny Clinkscale hosting that show?

It's not a matter of who is worse, it's the fact that either would be given the chance in the first place.
The majority of posters on this site could bring more sports knowledge to that show than either one of those asslips.

I'm not saying he's anything special. However, I'd rather have him and be able to somewhat enjoy the benefits of having a K-Stater (decent interviews and decent airtime) instead of having what would most likely get better ratings in a largely squawk-filled town. It's the reason I can't listen to 610 much at all.

I don't disagree about the former, but you're underestimating the latter. Marty is a total crapbag and cancels out the other decent people on that station. 610's advantage is less NECKCAR talk.

I've never understood the anti-Kietz sentiment from K-State fans. I think he's fair. Yeah, I think he goes a little overboard trying to find the bad in the good and the bad in the bad when it comes to the happenings at K-State. But I think he has to, because he makes it clear he's a K-State guy. Gotta cater to all crowds. And he must do a fine job of it, because his competition hasn't sniffed him in a long time.

Haven't you learned yet?  People need something to complain about after KSU smoked Texas.

When there's more to complain about, KK get's moved to the back.

Anyway, I agree with your assessment of KK.

Marty Wall and Bob Fescoe make it very hard to listen to 610.  They are bigger ku homers than kietz is for kstate.  Did anyone here marty's bball signing day meldown?

For my money, it doesn't get any better than when Michael Bolton sings "When a Man Loves a Woman".

Fescoe is on 810. And yes, he is a huge ku homer. Wall is too, but I can't say I know a single person thatl listens to Neal and Marty.

I could care less where KK went to school or who he supports.
My problem with his show is that he's nothing more than a talking head, an entertainer.   :blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah:
He let's his emotions drive his show and doesn't let fact get introduced to many discussions.  Not much more than a casual sports fan at best.

The facts that his competition is worse (hence his ratings) and there are no alternatives, don't make his show any more palatable to me.  IF Entercom gave two craps they'd blow KK and 810 out of the water.  They don't, hence we're left with Neal (who's a really good guy to talk to) and Marty (who's a super large douche with nuts the size of a spider monkey).

Solid description of every high-rated sports radio host.

What can 610 counter with?

You're calling every high-rated sports radio host a casual sports fan?
I'm aware that to appeal to the mass market they need to offer a vanilla "sports show", that doesn't make me like him any more though.  I'm not arguing that the guy has to do in-depth statistical analysis everyday from 2-6, however having a better grasp of his subject matter would at the very least lend credibility to his voice and in doing so may help silence some of his critics while at the same time making him more successful.  Plenty of successful radio/television sports hosts are sports geeks, they just tone down their subject matter while on air to avoid  their listeners.  I happen to feel KK's in way over his head, it's my subjective opinion.  Do I listen to him on my way home from the office? Sure, we've established what's at the other end of the dial, but that doesn't mean I think I'm being sold a quality product.

610 can counter with anyone they want, they've got the pocketbook, they just don't care about this little station of theirs in Westwood, KS.

Kilgore...great work on the star ratings of the UT secondary.  They still got roasted by Figurs and they still haven't performed well but, hey Mack Brown isn't known for his ability to coach, just to recruit.  I have no doubt Keitzman has great passion for KSU sports but I think he tries to hide it to appease the MU and ku fans and yes, it is nauseating that he has so much love for MU...particularly Pinkel.  His job, at least as he sees it, is to stir the pot and get people involved in his conversations.  He does that pretty well.  I get tired of his negative, "hey we're just wildcats, we're used to dribbling down our legs" type comments and his incessant need to try to stir up the pot, be political, etc.  Neal and Marty flat out suck.  They never bring anything interesting to the table and Marty is so enamored with his old "cool DJ" banter and his own cleverness (not!), and he's a huge ku homer.  Neal is just kind of an idiot.  I only listen to them when KK has the racin boys in or is droning on about the stadium issue, etc.

DA's a good choice but his show in it's current format would never work in the afternoon (does it even work in the a.m.?)

DA was pretty good when he was in the nighttime slot, but I can't pick up 610 anymore and I don't really care to.  I listen to KK a couple times a week during football season, and I find it for the most part entertaining.  He's a bandwagon jumper so he'll start covering KSU basketball for real this year, even though it hasn't happened much yet outside of Clinker's paranoia about Bill Walker.  Yesterday he got all upset because some lady called in and told him it's ridiculous that the broadcasters didn't bother to learn our names and they laughed like dolts before the game rather than breaking it down.  He just put down the lady and told her to grow a thicker skin... now I halfway agree with this statement, but I also think she had a valid point in the case of that being one of the worst KSU broadcasts I've ever heard.  KK just gave his canned response of how thin-skinned KSU fans are.

So it turns out the lady who called in and was berated by Kietz is the mom of one of his employees.

Not knowing the names of a team's players is one thing and is excusable. Not knowing "ku" versus "KSU" is not. Still, the lady should chill the hell out.
