Were you that guy on the field last night drunkenly screaming at the students to respect Bill Snyder Family Stadium and rambling about us being in the Fiesta Bowl 3 years ago?

Um....no.  I stood around and took in the atmosphere for a few minutes...walked down and out onto the track...saw Drinkgerm...wife figured out that being down on the field was pretty overrated, and we took off for the tailgate.  Watched highlights for about an hour..picked up, went and dropped stuff off....drove through Aggieville and then went to Bob's for some grub before getting some sleep around 2.

Any more questions?

When did you decide all of a sudden that a good sporting event requires no emotion?

When the game was over, did you stand up politely, clap your hands like a english woman at a tea party and then fix your suit and help your wife up the stands making sure you politely said "Excuse me, I would like to pass by?"

Oh wait!  You didn't have to because ALL THE OTHER GOD DAMNED FANS RAN ONTO THE FIELD!! WHAT FREAKIN' JACKASSES WERE THOSE????

I got a call from a couple of buddies that were old roomates of mine at KSU and they RAN ONTO THE FIELD.  A couple of lumbering 40 year old men who understands that we just beat one of the best teams in the nation!   Both from out of town, married, with kids, god damn, they knew exactly what to do.

Now I'm pissed.   Had I been there, my fatass would have been on those goal posts trying to get KSU a new set installed for free.  Don't do us any more favors when you decide to come out and cheer.  I hope some douchebag student pours beer on Alexanders suit.

    The very best.
I saw a bunch of 55+ old men/woman on the field.

It was awesome.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

We ran 3 fake punts vs nebraska in '95.  James Garcia was our leading passer that day. Ouch.

&@#% the trick plays.  Snyder would have lost because his passing in recent years was absolute crap.  Like AzCat said, the only thing we really tried to do well offensively was power running.

Come on MJ..you know me better than that.  No emotion? I still don't have a voice...

Rushing the field is a blast...

Walking down there 5-10 minutes after the game is over isn't that much fun...she realized that.  We did, however, see a bunch of recruits, so that was fun.

Our section had a BLAST at the game.  I still swear to God Leland sits right behind me.

As for the gameplan, I loved it because he wasn't stubborn and pretty much conceded that we weren't going to be able to impose our will on UT in the running game, but used it just enough to keep them honest.

I LOVE the deep ball being added to the arsenal.  It's been fun to watch the offense evolve...really wish they had just started out the season with Freeman.  I guess I understand why they didn't, but it seems like cutting his teeth against Ill. State and the likes might have been easier..

Gotta beat ku now.

The title and premise of this thread is assinine.......

Snyder was the ultimate "bold and daring."  He was a trailblazing pioneer in the sport of college football as it's played today.

Think about the number of people utilizing the QB in the way they are today...He!!, in watching Texas I thought I was watching KSU circa, '97....coaches have copied what Snyder introduced.  People say KSU became Nebraska in this time...they had it wrong...after Osborne left, Nebraska became KSU.

Think about the use of JUCO's
Think about scheduling
Think about the demand for control
Think about the commitment
Think about the coaches

It isn't always about trick plays.....it's about the ingenious use of plays.......Snyder was unbelievable in that regard....He was not afraid to take chances and was very aggressive....to suggest otherwise is incredibly naive.

You take yourself way too seriously.  Check emoticon on the message.  It was all tongue in cheek.

I know you're a great fan and proud to have you in the group.

Reply to Original topic.

We have had real big trouble recruiting juco D-ends lately with LHBS and assistants.

But you have to give them credit for the RB's and Ian Campbell.

I think this team was turning it around but the Oline would also be different than now.

Boss & Spex might be starting. We might have been better at running against UT but not passing.

Tough to really say. It's always matchups. UT has a wall of a front 7 on D.

You made some sound points after this but the fact remains that Snyder, as a gameday coach, became *very* conservative over time and it bit him in the ass during his final two seasons.  It's entirely reasonable to ask whether the late-career Bill Snyder would have defeated Texas Saturday.

What the hell are you douche bags arguing about?  Let it go, Snyder was great and we have him to thank for the traditions that were carried out on Saturday night, now we've got a new coach that likes to call a more exciting type of game.  Its a win-win situation!

Come on boys, its 2 days after we beat the #4 team in the country and you want to piss and moan about the past, think of the present and future... its very bright!
