Where does Coffman rank?

My answer: Right now he is #11 for me, but I think he can get somewhere between 5-7.

Just wondering how your initial list is ranked? I would put Coffman behind Webb, because Webb was at least Athletic and only was in for running plays in my opinion it should be 11.  Allan Evridge/Allen Webb.

Also the Chad May, Beasley placement is a ? for me.

Mostly I ranked them based on accomplishments, then supporting cast, then on athleticism and QB skills (passing and running). It's pretty subjective, but I think it's fairly accurate.

Did you see any of these guys play? Straw and Watson were much better than Kavenaugh. Miller would be an absolute stud in this offense. Marc Dunn should also be on that list. He is one of only a few of those guys to get an NFL shot, albeit a short shot. stayed in that mid 90's offense. He only got a few starts because he just didn't fit in the offense his team ran. He would have been near the top had we kept the mid 90's offense rather than moving into the Wildcat/Option. Interestingly, he got his shot at the NFL and Roberson didn't.

May was probably the second or third best on the list. He was an a$$, but he was really good.

I saw all of them play, and I realize that play-calling changes did have an impact on their successes, but to address some of your issues:
1.) Marc Dunn was an accidental omission, but he would be near the bottom for me.
2.) Matt Miller slipped mainly because of injuries that required Kavanaugh to take over quite a bit.
3.) Straw was good, but his supporting cast hurt him a little, and too many others have passed him in career numbers
4.) May was good, but the three listed ahead of him were simply better athletes and had more of a running threat.

I can get on board with a lot of this, HFR is right about the May placement. He should be ahead of Beasley.

Not to mention the TT QB's are only solid in college because TT ALWAYS has hall of fame defenses and great running backs.  Oh wait................

Fact it, Coffman really cant compre to any guy listed in this thread...Applewhite and White were both FAR FAR better QB's than Coffman.  And thats not saying Coffman is horrible, Applewhite and White were pretty darn good.  Coffman doesnt need to be all world, just needs to protect the ball and do enough to keep defenses out of the box.

Just saying....Beasley was pretty darn good...take a look at his stats.  Only quarterback to win back to back bowls at Ksu. I can remember him having to come in and win a game for Bishop against Texas tech because Bishop got so amped up he lost control. That drive against Washington that atmost the second half in the holiday bowl took some serious patience. Beasley doesn't get the credit he deserves simply because he followed the most exciting and athletic qb we ever had. We are playing this season with basically three backup qbs....CC just happens to be the best of the three, Snyder isn't going to give CC anymore than he can handle...were going to try using the clock as much as possible to keep games close because that way we have a chance at winning each game and basically that what its all about. Its hard to rank CC but definitely better than smargessio!
