Interesting, Rivals ranks us 83 but say with just a little improvement KSU could be in line for a bowl game. I would have thought us to be somewhere in the 40-50 range. But then I guess that's why we play the games. Go Cats, I think you guys have something to prove. :steadymobbin':

40-50???

That would be a dream season. I'd say maybe we could be in the 60s preseason.

I am optimistic about this coming season and it may be a very stellar one provided a couple questions get answered early on. Can the K-State offense maintain a run-to-pass ration of 2:1 and still be effective when playing catchup football and, hopefully, win close games? If the answer is yes, it will be a good year.

What I am expecting is a truly incredible offense. If I were Snyder, I would vacuum pack "the System" with nothing but straight "I" formation. In my recollection of last season, it was the best gaining offense out of the entire '09 package. It is completely boring football, but it works.

I've got a sneaking suspicion that we're gonna surprise alot of people this year. I know I've said that every year recently and we just seemed to be a tad off but this year I've got a sneaky feeling that something special is going to happen.

I appreciate the optimism, but realistically if we get into a bowl game this season is a success. To me that is nowhere close to something special, but it would be improvement. Next year is a huge year in Snyder's rebuilding, that's where something more like 9-10 wins could happen. If we can continue to improve the lines on both sides of the ball we'll be dangerous.

His teams will play hard, fundamental football which is what even gives us a chance at a bowl with Carson Coffman as the likely starter in game 1.

If our run to pass ratio is 2:1, there is no way we are coming back in any games (considering the defense). Although, I do think our run to pass ratio should be close to 2 with the personnel we have and that the I-formation will be most effective, but the pass game is going to be ugly. With better personnel we'll win more games and not have to rely on this type of football. We're getting there.

Even though the princess essentially brought him to Manhattan, it would have been awesome to see Freeman on a Snyder coached team.

I agree. Had Snyder coached Freeman. Freeman would have developed into quite a quarterback. But that's all water under the bridge. I think KSU could have a pretty good year this year. I believe as others do that we could be moving back into  the arena where we win 9-10 games a year and become a top 20 program once again.
