I say if UT decides to stick with the BigXII and this thing stays together we go on the offensive.

Immediately announce that Nubb and Ralphie are no longer part of the BXII.  They aren't eligible to compete, they don't get any of the revenue and we're going to immediately cancel all 2010/2011 school year contests.  Let's see Nubb's and Ralphie without 8 games on the schedule in FBall, 16 games in hoops, etc....that'd be kinda sweet.

I know it's a pipe dream and there's probably all sorts of legal crap covering this, but it's time to quit sittin' back and takin' it.

As a Husker fan, I'm obviously biased, but I don't think Nebraska can fairly be blamed for this mess. Texas has been running the conference for years, and considered the other 11 schools its bitches. Missouri was campaigning for a spot in the Big Ten for months,and Colorado has been flirting with the Pac 10 and Texas with the SEC/Big Ten/Pac 19 for years. It became apparent over the last few months that the teams in the conference were only as loyal as their options.

There's no reason the Big 12 couldn't have been successful. But it was ultimately killed by the greed and arrogance of Texas. They're a cancer that helped to kill the SWC and then the Big 12...if they move to another conference, they'll kill it as well. They're a damn parasite.

HuskerOne, you are absolutely right.  Nebraska is doing what's best for #1.  When the conference is about to fall apart, it's much better to secure a spot and get out first, lest ye be left behind.  Hell, we can't blame colorado either, their athletic department is in the crapter and if they don't know whats going to happen to the big12, of course they're going to jump to a safer ship given the opportunity.

 Sure, the root of it all is Texas and something would have happened eventually, but this particular fiasco was set in motion by mizzou - not to say it couldn't have easily been someone else given slightly different circumstances.

The real reason for our frustration is that we aren't in any position to jump ship.  THats on us.  Maybe if we hadn't sucked the last 6 years, maybe if we hadn't hired prince, maybe if we weren't splitting a small population state with another major university - whatever.  The fact is, K-State hasn't done anything to be able to stand on its own - hence being at the mercy of Texas.

So, if we cancel games with anybody, it should be Mizzou for pushing the issue too hard, and Texas for oppressing the rest of the conference.  But of course, we can't cancel the game with texas because that will be on tv and we need the revenue. ha.

Yeah, I'm starting to realize what ku fans have been saying about mizzou all these years...(i hear mizzou is now holding out and waiting for the ivy leagues to come calling...haha)

The facts are that Nubb and Ralphie left.  They gave up on the deal.  Perhaps they did it in their own self-interest, but they coulda stayed, rode it out and it would've worked....they didn't and they want to now position themselves as a victim.

Mizzery has always been toothless meth-head idiots, anybody that didn't recognize that without squawks help just hasn't been watching.

We're never gonna have the option of "first-out" we're always gonna be at the mercy of a national perceived football program.....and right now the Horns are at least standin' with us.
