I believe that if KSU comes out and plays solid defense like last night that we do well against Baylor. I think they are similar to OSU in a lot of ways. I sure others on this board will have more detailed break downs. I would like to hear some others thinking prior to tonight. I hope Frank is able to utilize the bench in the manner that he did last night.  :kstatriot:

these two teams are SOOOOO much alike, im surprised its not causing a rip in the current dimension when they are to meet.

the keys to winning tonight is very simple.

1. smart play from the guards
2. closing defense like last night
3. rebounds rebounds rebounds

more than likely, frank will stick to his usual big minute players. but if there is early foul troubs like pullen got into, he will obv. go to his bench. depending on who isnt in his doghouse today, they will get the nod.

i dont expect russell to set foot on the floor. however, i would like to see JHR get some solid minutes against udoh. we can spare the fouls since he's not a threat, and hopefully get udoh some cheap ones.

the most important factor tonight, and every night, is the tempo that Denis sets. if hes out of control, we panic and fire random shots. if he runs it like last night, we control our side of the court, actually running an offense. last night was beautiful.

would love to see an all kansas teams final in KC.

Will the bigs show up?  CK is consistently contributing offensively and defensively, but could improve his foul trouble situation.  Samuels came up big last night, which got all the attention, but I think it's just as important that Dom played monster defense and chipped in 11 very big points.

'Cats by 10+, no problem.

We've got to handle their zone.  Feel pretty good about that b/c a) we did well against it in Waco and b) we destoryed a similar look by OSU last night.  We did an excellent job getting the ball to the FT line and playing off that against OSU and we did that in Waco as well.  If we do that again, we should be fine offensively.

Defensively, find Dunn and limit Carter's penetration.  We seemed to play pretty well against Udoh in Waco and bothered him, anxious to see if we can do that again.  That said, I don't expect Dunn to have a horrible night like he did in Waco, but I also don't expect Kelly, Sutton, and Samuels to struggle like we did in Waco either.

Hey guys. Really looking forward to our game this evening. I think the key for Baylor is just to have Lace hit some shots. In our game during the regular season Lace played arguably his worst game in the green and gold. It will be big for Udoh to be aggressive, too. He put up 25 last night. That was his best offensive game for us in a while, so I think we need to work the post and hope that it carries over. Should be a really close game and good luck tonight.

Baylor's big men will provide a lot more trouble for K-State than Oklahoma State's guys did.  If Dunn comes out hitting shots, you guys might be in trouble.  I've got Baylor as one of my sleepers to make it to the Final Four.

i dont think so. pilgrim and moses and others are pretty solid. they just couldnt hit anything and got into early foul trouble last night.

we've already matched up against their bigs and came out fine. held udoh and dunn under 10 pts each. not too bad. acy will prob get some good looks tonight.

good news is i think this crowd will be more for ksu. and our boys love their egos stroked. cats win.

Last night's game should have told you not to base your predictions on what happened during the regular season.  Udoh is a stronger defensive presence than anything Oklahoma State has down low.  Don't expect a team to shoot as poorly as Oklahoma State did last night for the rest of the post-season, either.  I'm not saying K-State won't win, but Baylor will be a much tougher test than Oklahoma State.

i am going to base our game on our baylor win in waco for a couple of reasons. 1. winning there is hard. and we did. 2. no reason why we cant win in front of a mostly cat crowd. perhaps they can pull us out of a shooting slump if we get into one.

no kidding baylor will be tougher. they are the three seed and finished 3rd in our league. baylor and texas have a hatred pure as the ku/kstate games. im sure they got up big time last night. they should be emotionally dead because they already beat ut 3 times in a year. (in case you havent noticed, ut is worse than any big sky team. just pick one.)

will be tough. great match ups. i think sportsnation has this as the most exciting game happening tonight. rightfully so.

Came out fine? You won by 2 points in Waco and made the winning shot with 8 seconds left in the game.  I think this will be a great match up with another game winner near the buzzer.  I've made a few trips to Manhattan and met some great fans up there during my stay, but this message board seems to be a little over confident.  Clearly many of y'all don't know a whole lot about our team, and I really don't know much about yours.  I just know you have great guard play, and Pullen is a bada$$.

Keep in mind that Udoh is a projected lottery pick, and Baylor is the 2nd biggest team in nation behind Kentucky.  Having the same exact record as KState and still only being ranked 20th shows how under-rated we are.

I'll be there tonight, and while it should be like an away game for us, I don't see either team losing by more than 4. Our worse loss was to Kansas by 7 points at Allen Field house.  The Jayhawk has a point.

came out fine by keeping udoh and dunn under ten.

yeah, we only won by two, but thats HUGE on the road in the big 12. to me, thats coming out fine.

i dont care if udoh is a lottery pick. when he played us last time, he was more like a lottery ticket seller.

no. look at your away games this year. not too impressive. ours is. thats why we're higher. 2 true OOC away games? are you kidding me?

I'll bet you $100 that Baylor doesn't make the Final Four.

Having the same exact record as KState and still only being ranked 20th shows how under-rated we are.

show how low Baylor's RPI is....

name your quality wins....you can use Texas is you want..BWHAHAHAHA

Baylor and KState have the EXACT conference, and out of conference record.  Yes we are tied for second.  You got the 2 seed cuz you beat us.

Our road record is 7-4 to your 8-2.  You deserve to be ranked where you are in the polls.  We just deserve to be at least in the top 15.

Quality wins: Texas (3 times *cough, cough*), Texas A&M, Mizzou, Xavier.

Baylors RPI yesterday was #8.  Haven't checked today.

I'm not delusional enough yet to say we're a final 4 team.  Sweet 16 is a fair assumption.

Folks,

I saw Baylor go toe to toe with ku at Allen back in January.  They are a good team and had a chance late to win.

I think this will be a good game and may well play into the last seconds or go OT.

That said, I'm sure Baylor will be ready to 'pay KSU back' like KSU did to OSU last night.  We'll soon see what happens.

No losing at Kansas was your best loss and losing to Colorado by 7 was your worst loss, not mention losing to a weak Alabama team.

Colorado > Iowa State

Ole Miss > Alabama

I'd say we're about even on the s***ty losses.

Well, KSU comes out on top of a hard fought game. Baylor was Baylor. Very good team. Both should do well in tourney. Both Baylor and KSU should be nightmares from hell for most teams this year. Great game. The NCAA won't be anymore difficult than this! imho :steadymobbin': :steadymobbin': :steadymobbin':

Amazed K-State was able to win with Baylor hitting 60% from the floor.  Concerned with the amount of energy used.  Looking forward to Saturday night.
