I voiced my frustration with Denis the last couple weeks.  And many of you came to his rescue saying he was trying to keep us in the game at ku, and I don't know what your excuses were for the ISU game.  But when he tries to take the game over like that, it makes defense a whole lot easier on the opponent.

Then last night happens, probably the best the cats have played all season, and look at Denis' stats.  5 of 11, only 12 points, and 10 assists, and only 2 turnovers.  That is where he shines, and he had improved this year leaps and bounds until the last couple weeks.   Now that he is back, I think the Big 12 is a definite possibility, and Indy is looking closer each day.

So everyone that said if I don't like Denis' playing then I don't like FM, take note.  I bleed purple, always have.  I lived in Manhattan for 13 years and have probably attended more KSU basketball and football games than a lot of you on here.

That being said.  Keep it up CATS!!! 8 games left!!!  :bballonlyfan:

heres what i think.

he did try to keep us in the ku game, but that was a long time ago, so its buried in my head. ive now moved the memory of seeing my grandma naked in the tub ahead of this.

second. there were no excuses for the isu game. when deni plays like that, we lose. its obvious they overlooked that game, and let their nat'l ranking be their swagger instead of their defense and other things.

deni now knows that its one and done time. amazingly he seems to put aside his own personal gains and stats to share with the whole team. which is what he is expected to do, being a point guard, and a senior on a top ten team.

we wont know for sure. im betting that dunn and carter will come firing 3's left and right, and that will only encourage deni to match them, whether they go in or not, is a different story.

I hope he doesn't get caught up in the back and forth like that. I hope he watches last nights game a couple times today to see what he did well and repeat it. I think if he keeps 3PA to 5-7 a game, based on good looks, perfect.  But any more than that, and I feel like he would be forcing it.  Keep the opposing defenses guessing, is he gonna shoot or pass.

It is a whole new season right now, I hope he takes the reigns, leads not just as a Sr or a PG, but as a SR PG.  If he does that, and distributes to the hot hand. LOOK OUT Big 12 and look out NCAA.

Good and fair breakdown of Denis.

I think part of it is Sutton and Samuels playing so well also.  If Denis "senses" he needs to take more of a scoring role, he'll probably do so.

There were valid points made about how Denis played and how it helped the team last night, I can live with that and it was more than fair.

But you don't get more :powertard: than the last part.

Agreed, when GPC hands out their Powertard Manuals to people, there is probably a section full of handy phrases just like that.

When Denis sees offensive contributions from other players, he feeds the ball like a good player should.  When he doesn't see anyone else hitting shots, he tries to create offense.  I'd guess that's what FM wants him to do.  10 assists last night, eh?  OSU D didn't look too good inside, and he had 3 other players in double digits offensively.  Denis' consistency mirrors team consistency.
