oh ok b/c i thought you guys were wanting something done yesterday, not next fiscal year.

I"m just upset at the lowball offer and the idea that curry wants his own guy.
it's pretty normal to begin negotiations with a lowball offer.  you should be upset if currie didn't at least try to sign frank for as little as he can.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

kind of disagree with this.  again, depending upon when the offer was made, I think part of negotiating is knowing/understanding the person you're negotiating with and what you're negotiating.  If currie believes in frank and isn't wanting to just sign him to keep him for a few years because he feels he has too, AND understood what type of person frank is (or at least what kind of person I believe him to be) then he should have offerred him something fair, not low.  again, depending on when the offer was made would define "fair".

i'll say it again, fair is where you end up in negotiations, not where you begin them.

...doesn't mean there isn't bad blood generated from negotiations which leads to avoidable conflict in the future.  it's not as easy as saying "well, they agreed to a number, so both parties are fine with everything".  this isn't like dealing with a professional player who has little ability/leverage to move.  frank might end up signing a deal, but i think if he feels like in the process currie did him wrong, that frank would leave when maybe had currie taken a different approach, frank might feel he was treated fairly.
