Other than Judge, I was by far the most excited about this guy. (of the freshmen)  SO happy to see him playing good solid minutes for us.  Dudes got skills. :dancin:

We needed one of the freshmen to step up. Actually Judge didn't play badly.

McGruds has grown up.  I'd rather have Frank get someone else to inbound the ball though.

Exactly. Played very well, as long as he's not inbounding -- completely clueless there. But he's a frosh so it's more than forgivable. Drained hit FTs down the stretch too.

Also, any1 else on the Irving bandwagon? Kid has been solid on both ends. Our gaurd play is in good hands going forward, y'all.  :kstatriot:

Ehh, if he can learn to be a good inbounder that would be great.

    Hi Brett
McGruder was clutch on the free throw line and Irving's defense shows why he plays and Russell doesn't.

Is it just me, or does gruds never look like he's enjoying anything, much less Manhattan?

Not meant to be a major criticism, just saying.  McGruds had an incredible game tonight.

Gruds, Irv, and J Hen have all impressed me at different times this year.  All look to be great additions to the team.  Love me some Judge.  He looks pretty shell shocked much of the time, but I have faith he will also be a very nice player for us.  Votes still out on Russell, however.  I was very excited about him after his signing, and after a few games this season.  I would love to see what he could do for us, but wouldn't be totally against letting him find a different school to play for if we were able to find a solid replacement for his schollie.  Pretty much the exact same way I felt about Buchi last year.  As I type these words, it's hard to believe that I would ever feel that way about a player like Russell wearing purple.  Post Huggs KSU basketball sure beats the holy hell out of the Asbury/Wooldridge days.

Has anyone else noticed than McGruder can't inbound the ball for his life? He has turned the ball over 4 times in the past 2 games trying to get the ball inbounds.

Of all the freshmen, Gruds seems to be the most comfortable with the ball in his hands.  He actually makes aggressive moves with the ball, compared to the others deferring to passing the ball or scoring off of passes.  Maybe it's the beer talking, maybe it's my (over a year long) love for Gruds talking, but I really like that player.  Looking back, I'm curious if his time in the doghouse wasn't a Frank/Pullen type of thing.  Only this time, Frank has the luxury of keeping the player on the bench.  The depth of the team is pretty solid, even on a national level.  Yeah, we don't go 10 deep with Mc D boys, but it sure looked like we matched up athletically with the #1 team in the nation pretty well.

"Post Huggs KSU basketball sure beats the holy hell out of the Asbury/Wooldridge days."

Had to chuckle in the first half when (I believe) Musburger was going through K-State's *national* recruiting by listing where all the players are from and mentioned Ottawa, Kansas (for Ojeleye).  Ottawa is a little more Asbury/Wooldridge than Huggins/Martin.

Yeah, it was like the second or third hometown mentioned.  They should have added that the only Kansas kid on the roster is a walk-on, it would have emphasized our recruiting success even more.

Remember when the only thing close to a recruiting "pipeline" we had was Junction City?

Gotta figure the coaching staff had to be pocketing the "recruiting budget" back then.  That crap would go a long way at the "strip clubs" in JC.

totally pisses himself on inbounds plays, you can see it when he is handed the ball he pump fakes passes a dozen times without doing a damn thing, sure sign that you are psyched out, have been there, surest sign of being unsure with the ball.  Watch other players inbound the ball won't do all of that pump crap with the ball, will just throw it in when it is necessary.
