I guess you were too busy listening to all of your auto-tuned pop music.*

Get over it, I'm sure he was joking...

As for the album, I'm pretty disappointed in this effort thus far.  I will give it another listen through though.

I LOVED their first album to no end (truly flipped over it), but I always thought there were only about four songs or so that were truly transcendent.  I think this one's about the same.  I already LOVE "White Sky."  And "Diplomat's Son" is a winner for sure.

They need to grow more on their next album, for sure, or their moment will pass.

There's going to be a lot of people comparing Contra to either Paul Simon or Haircut 100 or The Specials but that really is not the point. The performers I mentioned above were not originals in and of themselves so we need to move on....and Taxi Cab is a really good pop song regardless of who is tapping into. But what really galls me here is the album is 38 MINUTES LONG!....basically half of what a CD can hold....Come on guys.

Is this value for the money? At $3.99 maybe....at $7.99 pass.

I saw them at liberty hall a couple years ago.  They played the entire album an additional song and they were out the door.  I was there less than an hour.  I was pretty disappointed but it was a great show and great to hear them live.

they're the kind of band that makes bonnaroo great.  I'd probably never pay to see them by themselves, but festivals make it really easy and relatively affordable.

Was at that show too. The opening act is up there as one of the worst openers I've ever seen. Their show was really good though. I do wish they could have played a couple more songs though.

Meh, I saw them again at Lollapalooza and it definitely wasn't a great outdoor festival show. I enjoyed them much more at Liberty Hall...

Yeah, everyone will sound better at a place like Liberty Hall than a festival.  I'm just saying festivals are a great way to see bands you appreciate but normally wouldn't pay $30 to see live.  Vampire Weekend is a good example of this for me.

Gotcha, I think the tickets were a little under twenty for the record (I may be wrong). I particularly enjoy festivals for the acts that you don't know much about that can turn out to be pretty sweet when you go and see them. At Lollapalooza and Wakarusa the good shows weren't until around four so we got to see a lot of different groups before that I ended up getting into afterward.

I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70
