Apparently the Insight Bowl is very interested. I'll say that if we go there the opponent will be.....Indiana or Iowa.

I'm pretty sure that MJ's not full of it on this one.  If he says Joe Junker or Bob Bunker or whatever his name is says that they want us that's sounds pretty encouraging to me.

I'd love the Independence vs. Kentucky, Georgia, South Carolina or LSU. LSU would be fantastic.

    The very best.
Give us Indiana. We could use the cheap W like ku had last year.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

His name is John Junker.

And I'm full of something tonight.  It's giving me some bad gas..

How would we feel about the Independence Bowl vs. South Carolina or the Texas Bowl vs. Rutgers?

Personally I'd rather go with the Independence Bowl but maybe that's just me. As far as South Carolina is concerned, I'm not sure it would be them because they played Missouri there last year. Wouldn't the Independence Bowl want two fresh teams?

We should flat-out reject the Insight and Texas offers, if possible.

No one will see those games and that won't be a good thing for various reasons.

We should lobby as hard as we can for the Independence.

You're talking about Tempe Arizona, land of beautiful women, vs. Shreveport, home of Bubba from Bubba Gump Shrimp.

Which one do you choose...

I won't disagree that Tempe and the Insight is the better bowl, but NATIONALLY no one will see the games because of the NFL Network.

I would guess that less than half of the households with Cable/Satellite have the NFL Network.

When we are hammering our opponent, I want the world to see it and take note.

I'd like to think we could magically slip into the Alamo with 7 wins. (8 would be better)

The reality is this..

KSU will win out the rest of the year.

And go to the Fiesta Bowl.

Either way, you're coming to Phoenix.

Give me Phoenix over Shreveport any day.

In Phoenix I watch Phootball and play golph.  I will be there if that's our destination.

Can locals make tee times so it won't cost me an arm and a leg?  I'm not as wealthy as Jayhox, with his fancy cars and 700inch  DPI liquid crystal TV with a downstairs furnished in custom diamonds that he persoanlly shat out after eating lumps of coal.

 :)

I'll see what I can do for you if you come to Phoenix.

However, I don't golf.  I will, however, drive the beer cart with Hooter's girls attached.

So Phoenix = Tempe, pretty much? Right next to each other?

Where can I find a cheap flight? Hotel and such? Details, people!

Surrounding Phoenix is:

Glendale (Fiesta Bowl - west)
Tempe (Sun Devil Stadium - south east)

I live about 45 minutes away from Sun Devil Stadium.

Depending on who you go with, you can get flights or travel caravan.  My Dad has driven down here in 16 hours from Manhappiness.

Plenty of places to stay in Phoenix.  Tempe has a number of Hotels as well as Scottsdale and Phoenix, most are pretty well priced.

I'd like Phoenix for the trip....Shreveport for the matchup and the exposure...

And, I'd love to go Alamo just to see Misery relegated to something lower than they "deserve"...

Plus, I'd like to see San Antone without the rain I got the last time I was there (not the unmentionable year)

"We like K-State," said Alamo Bowl representative Marty Wender, who attended Saturday night's game against Texas. "That's why I'm here."

K-State also is being considered for the Insight, Independence and Texas bowls.

"They bring a lot of people, and K-State recruits a lot in Texas," he said. "I'll tell you, it's important when a team travels, and y'all do that."

The Alamo Bowl, which will be played Dec. 30 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, pits a Big 12 member against a Big Ten squad.

K-State fans most certainly remember the Alamo. Despite being ranked fourth in the nation, the 1998 Wildcats plummeted to that bowl, which is fourth in the Big 12 hierarchy, after losing in overtime to Texas A&M in the Big 12 championship. Unranked Purdue upset K-State, 37-34, when Drew Brees completed a 24-yard pass to Isaac Jones with 30 seconds remaining.

    Overkill. It works.
The 98 game notwithstanding, the Alamo was a great time.  The riverwalk is sweet!

I'd still rather go to Tempe.  Give me beautiful Arizona over dusty old Texas any day.

I know the matchup would be better at the Alamo, but I don't care.  I hate the alamo bowl.  and i hate everything texas*.  warm arizona would be a great trip in the middle of freezing december.
