Deserved it's own thread, IMO.

Thanks for smoothing the waters, OB.

Does Bill love KSU enough to step aside if there was a chance we could get this done?

Of course.  I'll bet Bill is working hard behind to scenes to make this happen.  You just you wait and see.  I mean, certainly he would want that, wouldn't he?

what about a HCIW deal for a year or two.  Depending on how hot this gets legally with TTU he may not be a viable HC for a bit.

Why would he be HCIW for a coach he is clearly superior to in every fathomable way?

No.  That motherfracker wouldn't even get rid of an assistant coach(es) when it would have been  good for the program.  the hilarious part is that if by some kwanza miracle ksu did hire leach, the addition of billy cosh might actually be a good thing...marking the first impact QB snyder recruited this century.

Associate Head Coach year one with control of offense (mostly to "settle the waters" around leach and also allows leach to evaluate current staff).  Head coach year two.

Can you imagine a leach offense with cosh at qb and Lamur, Brod Smith, Harper, and Lamar at wr with DT and a handful of scat back/slot receivers around him.  :hope:

Im not sure that Leach would fit in with OB and company.
Leach is a very outside the box kinda guy with a different mentality than what k-state is used to. Where as k-state football has always been an old school, hard working, run-based team.
However maybe someone like Leach would be a good hire in order to shake things up!?

Any thoughts  :dunno:

    Angry KSU Fan.
I'm on board.  Bring him in now.  No reason to wait.  No HCIW, just HC.

And I was before too when some nazi admin decided my thread should be merged with the existing Leach thread.  I'm sorry, is there that much KSU football news going on that we need to consolidate all Mike Leach related threads?  No, I didn't think so.

Look, he is either going to be in a legal battle defending his name which means he will be too hot.  OR
IF he doesn't defend his name ESPN will take full license on screwing us even more because leach &@#%ed with one of their own.

Let him be an OC for a couple years till crap cools, hopefully he wins his legal battle with TTU, and cruits will love him.

Would rather take a legit shot at Patterson in 4 years after Snyd's contract is up and GPatt has expended most of his recent extension.

"k-state football has always been an old school, hard working, run-based team."

not really true with May, Miller, and even Kavanaugh we were really more of a west coast pass based offense.  After Beasley we converted to a more conservative ball control run offense.

That type of crap is what has got us to the point where we have Ben and the other tards poking fun that we have gone to a bowl game once in 6 years.

Change or change will be imposed upon you!

1st sentence should be modified to read

"k-state football is geared towards winning -- all other theories, take first exit"

Leach fits that.

does leach's offense "travel"?  i mean, is someone going to take him in as an OC and would he conform his offense to whatever they hell that team is currently running?  or would he want to implement his own unique system (which, by the way, wouldn't get fully implemented before he was offerred another job, therefore leaving that team f'd because they spent a recruiting class or 2 getting kids who fit that offense and teaching kids 7ft splits).

btw, the idea of having leach as KSU's OC is stupid. like we need another X’s and O’s guy.

If Snyder is here to coach until he dies or is unable to continue then I am all for it.

But if he's really serious about this "I'm just here to calm the waters" bullcrap, then we should have a coaching search every single year until the right guy pops up.

Leach could be that guy.  Why not interview him?
Is your life so sad that KSU football isn't enough?

Two thoughts:
1.  Leach is a hot commodity, who was fired by TT because he's an interview whore with other programs.  Are there more desirable jobs than KSU that would try to hire Leach?  or,
2.  Huggins set us up as a program that hires bad boys.  So, why not dangle a carrot?

This is going to be a fantastic TT meltdown...

Quote
Liggett read the termination letter aloud in the packed courtroom. When he reached the part that made it clear Leach was fired, many in the gallery gasped audibly.

Several fans called out that they wouldn't be renewing their season tickets.

Outside the court, after the firing had been announced, a motorist yelled out his vehicle window, "Fire Myers," referring to athletic director Gerald Myers.

Leach and Myers did not always see eye-to-eye, as was the case in last year's contentious contract negotiations. Myers was not happy that Leach met with University of Washington officials about their job opening without informing the university.

Myers did not immediately return a call seeking comment Wednesday.

Bill Dean, executive vice president of the 28,000-member Texas Tech Alumni Association, said he has been bombarded by e-mail and phone calls from alumni who are angry about Leach's firing.

"I think people are wanting an explanation for this," Dean said. "I'm sure the university will give them one. That's my hope. That that will happen very soon."
