If true, I hope they make his primary focus recruiting.

Not sure what to make of this.  The dude is a lifelong ku guy but I guess Joe Bob did coach at ku for a season.  He is a good recruiter so he could help us there.  I've never been a fan of his x's and o's but I guess Cosh can handle that aspect.  Cosh is a better x's and o's guy then people give him credit for he just lacks a dynamic personality.

Very Old Ballz-ish hire.

Dude was jobless, cheap, and part of the defenses that have blown at ku since Bill Young left.

He was head coach of the Topeka Knights (IFL) football team in 1999.

 :beerchug:  Cheers, OB.

others, but hiring Bowen wouldn't hurt with recruiting.  God knows this staff has more than enough old farts who do X's and O's, how about somebody with some energy to recruit?

Then again, it could have been Mangino f*cking about with the 4-2-5. Oh well. Bowen could be a good recruiter for KSU, I'm just skeptical about his "X's and O's" ability or whatever :base5:

Bowen was contacted by FSU a few weeks ago about interviewing for their open d-backs coaching spot.  Mark Stoops got the coordinator/d-backs job, but Bowen was at least in consideration.

Fellas, I just checked this guy out in google image search (you may want to sit down for this btw)...He's very ugly.  Looks like he should be from Nebraska or some other POS state.  Definately not going to be able to recruit for crap.  Sorry about having to announce this.

Wasn't Bowen the ku players choice to replace Mangino?   It sounds like he's a players guy, and does he have any ties to some of the good athletes ku  brought in and mismanaged (we want Bowen if he brought them in, but not if he mismanaged them).

No Thanks

Obviously can't recruit (uk has no good players on defense), and obviously can't coach.  Not sure if he shouldn't head off to a vocational school and learn a new skill.  Perhaps automotive mechanics, or metal fabrication.
