pretty sure that half the people trashing it are just being stupid, but for arguments sake... name five better comedies that have come out in the last two years.

There haven't been any good comedies in the last 5 years. Maybe Grandmas Boy.

Amazing movie that somehow flew under the radar. They play it on FX now I think

I think my grandpa killed somebody once, but he never liked to talk about Kent State.

Wow. VERY LMIQ.

I definitely liked Superbad more.

I was saying that he had LMIQ in the sense that he said Superbad might be funnier than the hangover which he thinks in no way is funny.

Hangover was the biggest waste of two hours in my life. Terrible.

Galifinakis was mildly funny. Ed Helms was too much like his Office character. Mike Tyson was terrible, who the frack thought he would be funny?

Yes, I'm an idiot because I thought a specific movie (all of which are highly subjective) sucked.

Ok, I watched this movie this weekend.  Not very funny. Chuckled a few times but can't remember when.  That is my in depth analysis.

LOL. Yep, since I'm like everybody else in the world and like this movie then I don't know anything. Sorry sir, but you are the one who doesn't know anything and in the minority about your thoughts of the movie...

The Hangover was good in the theatre when I was drunk and with a group.

But seeing it again made me glad I didn't get it for Christmas as per my request.

Grandma's Boy is a good one.

 :flush:

What's up with the "fat guy who thinks he's funny but really isn't" thing over the last couple years.  That zack dude, jack black, seth rogan.  They all think they're going to be the next Belushi or Farley, but in reality, we can all only wish they'd OD.

Please show me the interview where any of them compared themselves to Belushi or Farley.

What is it with middle-aged men always reminiscing about the "good ol' days" and failing to realize that things are just as good now as they were back then?

The whole point is the "fat guy acting crazy" schtick is old.  Belushi was a groundbreaker.  Farley had it down good.  The other guys, its just a retread.  Then you get someone like Philip Seymour Hoffman, a chubby, goofy looking guy.  He actually does what an actor is supposed to do: act.  The chubby intellectual who can play the crazy and the serious.  That is a much greater feat.

And what's with young punks that think the present day is the best and greatest things ever when its usually in all reality just a shadow of its former self?

Meh, lay off Galifinakis.  Dude is generally pretty funny.  The guy was lights out in Out Cold.

I think they forced it too much in The Hangover though.  They made Galifinakis into some complete retard ("Ratard" LOL). I didn't think the movie lived up to the hype, which is what I think the people in this thread are trying to say, it didn't live up to the hype.  It had some good zingers, but every legitimate comedy has some zingers.

The idea of the movie kind of pissed me off too.  Those who said it was like Dude Where's My car were spot on.  Except instead of some anonymous town, let's make it VEGAS.

A more appropriate title would have been Dude Where's my Groom.  See?  Sounds stupid.

ft. definitely not Galifianakas's fault. He's one of the funniest comedians around. IMO if they would have had Paul Rudd as the groom it would have been "off the hook"

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.
