It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Complete, utter, absolute machine.

This is why some are talking Texas going independent.  It really makes no sense for them to be talking about going to another conference . . . they rule the Big 12.   Think Michigan or Ohio State is going to let newbie Texas push them around . . . Pac-10, geography, and Texas alone won't elevate their TV contract status that much to make a difference in a sharing scenario.  Some folks say the SEC . . . but again, Texas goes up against other programs whose football teams generate revenues similar to Texas.  Think Florida or Alabama is going to let Texas push them around?

Nope . . . they're better off to stay in the Big 12 or go independent.

TV? KSU was on tv for every conference game this year. Don't blame texas for being 13-0 (everyone wanted to watch them )

revenue sharing isn't just UT's fault, ask those pricks in nebraska about it

HQ in dallas? so what. dallas is a bigger market than KC, by far.

now, if they move the CCG permy to dallas, I will lose it. I want no part of the basketball tourny in KC permy.

Revenue sharing would be first and foremost.  It's a double edged sword; they say they are on tv more and therefore demand a higher share...then they demand that all their games be on tv to the detriment of teams in the north.
Certainly, the loss of partial qualifiers (UT demand to join the Big XII) was the biggest hit to Nub.   Loved watching those Huskers student athletes....John Smith 5th year Sr.  Undergraduate Studies.
Having the offices in Texas has only ensured a Texas slant..See KSU v Tech in NCAA tourney.

I would be very happy if the Horns left to become an independent and replaced them with tcu or Houston (Maybe Arky)  Win-win for all involved.

jesus you are a tard. we need to hold onto texas for dear life. they do so much for this conference. and the entertainment value of playing texas in football is priceless. I LOVE playing those bastards because they are the sh*t and beating them is awesome.

KSU vs Tech in the NCAA tourny? Dude, sh*t like that happens all the time.

Would hurt the Cats...but remedies the inequalities inherent in the conference.  Texas does offer a lot, but we have teams wondering about the cost.  (no pun)

But if you want to keep the horns; I would think we should treat F-Ball in B-Ball like a professional league.  Monetary cap the min-max that each school can spend each season.

what inequalities? i think eventually the tv revenue sharing will get solved.

i really think north members are just frustrated that mack brown f*cking owns us all (except for ksu)

again, blame Nebraska for that. their canchellor is a piece of crap.

the rest of the conference rides the coattails of their success.  We owe them millions.

They should have been able to fix the tv revenue sharing long ago.  But it is predominately UT and NU that are led by self interests.  If everybody (Big 10) was on tv every game; that would help the north teams with exposure.  Certainly give a bonus for nationally televised games.

this make zero sense.  texas does a lot for our conference.  taking the good with the bad is better than taking nothing.  read the article, there is no school -anywhere- that can replace what texas brings to this conference.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

TV revenue is the dumbest talking point at all.

http://espn.go.com/blog/big12/post/_/id/2094/how-the-big-12-teams-rank-in-revenue-sharing-funds

Texas got $10 million, bottom got 7 million.

BFD.  They deserve it.

QFT, only Tards believe Texas is some kind of bully and is bad for everyone else.  If they left the Big 12 it would be devastating.

The question I have from this article is why is the Big 12's revenue sharing "pot" $33MM to $51MM less than the Big 10, SEC, & ACC?  The article break's down where the $103MM the Big 12 shares comes from, but doesn't compare that to what goes into the other conference "pots".  I can't believe that other conferences generate that much more money than the Big 12.  If so, the Big 12 has serious leadership problems.  If the Big 12 schools generate $30MM more annually that other conferences share that maybe only 3-4  Big 12 schools get, that is a serious discrepancy in the levelness of the playing field.
