    This ZERO is my Hero
...and I know, don't believe the stars, there will be diamonds in the rough.  However, the general consensus isn't exactly overwhelming.

How much does next year's class have to be absolutely KILLER for us to take a major upswing?

Quite a bit.

But as you said, don't believe the rankings, they're all diamonds in the rough, they'll coach'm up, K-State can never land top classes etc. etc. etc.

Not bad if you throw in Harper and B.Smith.

All of the Dline cruits need to be solid and contribute.  We must replace Calvin and Fitz.

Slaughter needs to step up but seeing as how he never played I'm not sure what to expect.

Secondary can't be bad based on all of the experience.  but if our front 7 is bad then it doesn't much matter how good our secondary is.

NOt worried about offense at all.

I think the class pretty well sucks.  I defended recruiting early on thinking that we had a nice foundation for the class and we could go out and try to land some real difference makers with the last 4 or 5 scholarships.  But what has happened is all of the guys I had in mind as difference makers; Justin McCay, Joe Randle, Dom Jones, Cam Newton, Lawrence Rumph etc have gone other places.   With Sndyer the worst guy in the class is probably going to be better then the worst guy in the class under Prince.  But I just don't see the difference makers at the top of this class that it takes to win big.

    shame on you, non-believers
I think the days of K-State football taking "major upswings" are over until we bring in new blood.

I am saving your "puss" of a comment to review after the season.  Believe or not, based on the numbers and debth issues, Snyder and co. were forced to grey shirt and recruit to give us even numbers at all the positions.  I heard we are still getting Rumph, but even not, we will have an infusion of depth at dline along with Kadero and Harold coming back.  Defense and offense will be better than last year.

I think they did a decent job of plugging d-line needs for next year.  But for the most part recruitng isn't about next year it's about down the road.   What I don't see is the high school kids that will be big time players 3 or 4 years down the road.  Demarcus Robinson is good but beyond him we pretty well struck out on our top high school targets.

you mean the kid that couldn't start at juco?  yeah, that's really someone we should count on.  also, we have the same "kid who couldn't start at juco" as our great black hope at qb.  our OL should be better, DTrain should be good to go as long as he stays healthy.  until proven otherwise, our LB's suck terribly and imo our secondary is overrated. the juco DL can't just be serviceable, they have to be above average big 12 DL for us to have any chance next year on D.

Reading this reminds me of why, as a KSU fan, it is ridiculous to pay $9.99/mo for insider recruiting information.  The internet and rivals of the world only result in depression this time of year.  Just think of what it would have been like in the early 90's when guys nobody had ever heard of were given scholarships at KSU while all the "star" players were going nowhere.  KSU would have never been in the top 25, has 11 win seasons, won the north, or been within moments of playing in the national championship game.  Damm you low ranked recruiting classed.
