During our last (real) coaching search, there was a bunch of speculation about Chuck Long because of how tight those two were...welp, now Chuck is at ku.

http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2009/dec/14/chuck-long-carl-torbush-join-turner-gill-ku-coachi/

Obviously, Snyds has shown that he's cool with this sort of thing (Joe Bob), but weren't there some media types out there speculating that Chuck would come work for Snyds?

    Fear the Brick
There isn't an offensive coordinator under snyds, only offensive consultant.  I was surprised Ludwig even came to ksu for that 1 glorious month; maybe Ludwig found out how it was going to be and the whole "my wife's mom is sick" (or whatever the hell it was) thing was just smoke.  Why any experienced offensive coordinator who was worth a crap would want to come work under snyder is beyond me.  this is a perfect retirement for del.

My understanding is that Chuck Long would have likely come on as an assistant with Snyder last year except that he had a huge buyout deal with SDSU that would have been nullified had he taken a job last year.

Long was asked that today after the presser.  He said he listened to Snyder's pitch, but concluded he just couldn't deal with the old man stink that permeates Vanier.  I'm telling you, once that smell gets in the upholstery its a b!tch to get out.

Instead he can deal with the stink of failure which has permeated the ku football program forever.  And now Gill brings his MAC failure to make it worse.

I suspect that CLong fancies himself as a Offensive specialist at a high powered BCS school now that his head coaching chance was a miserable failure. If he goes and runs the offense for an up and coming head coach at ku, it's alot easier for him to take credit for any offensive success the team has and then parley that into a long term, high paying job at a big school. If he were to do the same thing under snyd's, he wouldn't get nearly as much credit.

Of course, they have a wonderful earthy tone mixed in with a little bit of that whiskey barrel smell. An antiquated smell, if you will.

Mangino probably smelled like a foreign exchange student and a Philly cheesesteak Hot Pocket.

You have no room to jude.

K-Staters making fun of a ku Athletics marketing slogan and applying it to the everyfan is like ku'ers giving K-Staters crap about a DOD DVD after you guys won one conference title.

    The very best.
Snyd's is now 13-2 vs ku in his last 15.

you guys must really hate snyd's.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Why? He's a great football coach. And he's 0-0 against Turner Gill.
