    The "other" KSU
What a way to start off the morning... are there any rumblings about who we are going to be looking at in terms of recruiting a QB? Obviously, our 1920's recruiting style of talking morals and being a good person isn't working out so well - so now what? Since from what I found, we offered 2 QBs Cam and Coshes offspring. Is there anything new? ANYTHING to make me stop thinking about our situation for next yr. Just recruiting info if there is any.

I guess if there is a silver lining - we will not be playing Cam unless both ksu and the mighty Stoopsies make it to the B12CH.

I think the staff is pretty comfortable with Lamur at QB. Especially after what was said at the awards ceremony.

In short, cam was our only hope at being good the next 2 years. Slamur couldn't start at the juco level.  Harper was removed as the qb at oregon even when they were down qb's due to injury.  cosh will be a true freshman who's skill set would be a good fit at mu, not ksu. snyds is running on a decade now of no impact qb.  simply remarkable.  maybe we have that scholarhsip for gilchrist, if we (a) haven't f'd that up already and (b) gill and co. don't get him away from houston.

Not that it helps us for another 2-3 years, but Bubba Starling from GEHS is someone we need to be going after.  The kid's got great size, arm strength and speed.  I played against him when he was a sophomore and he was still better than any senior qb I had played against.  He should be next year's Blake Bell and he's got interest from us, OSU, ku, NU and OU (he'll never go, too stacked at QB) and Bama.

From the way it sounds he might visit NC or Auburn, but no mention of visiting KSU anymore. No visit=no commitment.

Exactly, how can he be gone if he never showed up?

Yep.

I honestly think we can be a decent triple option team with those guys at QB.  We'll need more than just a couple of them, because they'll have exasperated shoulders before we hit conference play.  However, Georgia Tech has inspired me.  I am hopeful that we can be a trinket offense that sneaks up on some people next year.

And, in pre-season interviews last year Snyder was frequently quoted saying that he believed option based attacks would make a big come back....I just didn't think he was speaking in the third person at the time.

Oh, if we are going to be able to run the NU offense from the mid 1990's - I am all for it, but that doesn't translate well to the pro game and seemingly most d00ds are wanting to make it to the next level.

I don't want guys on the team who are just looking to "make it to the next level".  I want guys that want to: play for KSU, work hard, and WIN. A lot of the guys just looking to make it to the next level are only looking out for themselves.

I get this sentiment, but I sort of agree for a different reason.  I think we SHOULD be able to consistently get athletes to play QB in an option based offense....but not guys who have a realistic expectation of being a QB in the NFL.

I believe in order to get a REAL elite QB, you have to get one who aspires to make it to the League, or we will be the yearly 7-9 win team who plays in the meh.com bowl and never quite makes it. JMO.

It's the best we can hope for under Snyder with these AC's....I'd be happy with that.

This is why we need GP - Will I be happy with this? No. This isn't success to me and whatever success we generate will eventually level out.  :blindfold:

Why are you assuming Cam's gone?

Seriously, dude..................

People have been speculating he's MSU's for weeks now and still no commitment. I will be shocked if he commits to OU based on everything he's said previously.

I'm not saying we're going to get him, but until there's a commitment, I don't consider him gone.

According to who?

Did I miss something? He said he was going to announce on the 16th but then said he wanted to wait and take all his visits, saying multiple times that he "can't mess up this time."

If he commits to OU, then I suppose I had him pegged all wrong. I don't see him as the type to make a rash decision this time, particularly given what happened with him before. He's been there, seen the glitz and glamour, and now cares about playing more than anything and getting to the league.

Yep.  And until Megan Fox doesn't walk through the door, I'm not going to give up hope of banging her either.

Just let it go, man.  Let it go.

So you're saying if Newton commits there's a chance of me doing the horizontal waltz with Megan Fox?  :lick:

If I was given that chance, I would stick it in her butt with no spit, just dry, for being so mean to that little kid that was trying to give her a flower.

Back on topic, Newton is so yesterday. He is a handsome, athletic black man but we need to move on to others, that we won't be able to get but...

My vote is for Blackman, he would love to be in Kansas. LA gets so stuffy and people are so nosy.
