Tate Snyder:

Quote
"I'll sign in February. There has been no mention of a greyshirt so far. They are talking to me about playing linebacker."

Goes against what we have been hearing but whatever. Maybe he took Gilchrist's scholie??? :flush:

this class is going to have the son of a coach and the grandson of a coach getting scholarships. one is a passing qb that doesn't fit the mold of what we want in a qb and the other is just flat out not worthy of a scholarship. reminds me of when asbury gave up and just started handing out scholarships to the best senior at junction city every year. absolutely, positively sad and pathetic if true.

Time for Operation Wargames.

Somebody needs to hack into MHS's computer system and change some grades.

Then again, maybe Snyder is going to continue the recent KSU tradition of switching to a greyshirt offer at the last minute... :hope:
As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

Another in what is growing into a long string of mediocre at best recruiting classes is starting to unfold . . . meanwhile a much needed LB told us to pound sand, he wasn't going to wait on a ride to open up . . . meanwhile 2 recruits whose grandfather and fathers(s) combine for approximately $2.3 to $2.4 million dollars a year in salary will be getting full rides.

this is what bothers me. couldn't grandpa have just given tate an iphone or idk...video game or something for christmas instead of putting a scholarship under the tree.

$10k a year car allowance, plus a Courtesy Car in Bill's contract . . . that leaves plenty of room for a monthly payment on a sweet ride for Tate instead of a full ride scholarship.

This is bothersome.  People starting to say stuff like "Snyder deserves to be able to do whatever he wants!" acting like these schollys are the cost of doing biz with Snyds.

But wtf?  I am befuddled.  I had heard different and maybe they are just stringing along tate, but it doesn't really make any sense to do that.  This is back to suck city.

It does bother me as well that Tate is given a scholie, I don't care how good he is, given his family's financial situation it sure seems to me that grandad or dad could pay his way. 85 is a small number and if we could have signed a kid like Gilchrist in lue of giving Tate a scholie then shame on Snyder because he shouldn't be filling 1 of 85 with his grandson no matter how talented he is IMO.

I have one in college now and one that will enter college next year and the cost of  tuition, books plus room & board for an average person is staggering. I will go in debt up to my ears to get my 3 kids educated because I am just middlecalss. Seems like a muti- millionaire D1-A football coach or his highly paid dad could foot the bill for his grandson/son to attend school @ KSU.

Oh well, it is just one scholie and unlike many here I think we will be in pretty good shape next year. The recruiting class is small but 85 is the limit and would appear as though the areas of biggest need has been adressed in this class through transfers and gray shirts, along with the recruiting class. QB is still the biggest question mark, I have no clue if we have talent there or not. Harper was a 4* but has a suspect arm, Miller & Snyder are great at develpoing QB's, let's hope Harper is the guy cause no way we are getting Newton.

I have a lot less problem with Cosh, he is a legit national recruit and although he is listed as a pro-type qb he seems to be athletic looking at his combine ratings. An accurate passer will always find snaps at any school and I think he has the potential to be a good qb at the d1-a level.

i agree w/ all this. signing cosh just seems lazy though given the fact that he doesn't really fit the mold for what snyder really wants. especially if we strike out on other qb's like newton. it's like "hey we need a qb for this class probably. let's just get cosh's kid and call it a day."

i suppose if snyder decides to randomly up and quit like he did a few years ago then signing cosh may not be a bad idea since nobody knows what kind of offense/qb the incoming head coach will want. maybe we're just hedging bets or something.

the whole give tate a ship just looks horrible. horrible. no way he gets a scholarship if he isn't directly related to bill and sean. they have to know how bad it looks. have to right?

Lots of bad things can be said about Mangino but at leaset he didn't piss away a schollie on his kid when I assume he very well could have because I know his son played ball at LHS.  This whole thing seems like something Mangino would do, not something Old Ballz of Integrity would.

the only way we are going to be successful is to get staff members with outrageously talented football playing children. can someone set up a data base or something that will allow us to target football coaches who have multiple sons who all excel at playing football and will be graduating highschool in the next three years. preferrably one with twins or triplets or something. preferrable four and five star. thanks.

“My arm gets tired from doing this,” said coach Bill Snyder, waving his arm.
