and the circus of names that were paraded around to make it appear as if ku football was actually a big time player. It was simply to get a headline on espn.com in an attempt to get someone..anyone...actually to care about Jayhawk football for at least three seconds.

You go from names like Harbaugh, Tuberville, S. Holtz, and Sumlin who each had their own 10 page thread bout "rumors are confirmed" on phog.net.......only to settle for Turner Gill who had a cinderella year with Buffalo in a mid major conference. He was the only guy to interview according to the KC Star. Of course the KC Star reported to everyone that Tuberville was begging...JUST CLAMORING....for the opportunity to coach at Kansas. Yeah, everyone really believed that.

Just another fail in a long list of them for this glorious year of ku football. Kstate wins in Lawrence next year..and so will alot of other teams it appears.

Brian Kelly? wut?

I mean I remember the threads about Holtz, Harbaugh and Tuberville, but I never saw anything about Kelly.

Also, what will you do if Kansas wins next year in Lawrence? Just asking.

I'm surprised they didn't call Nick Saban and Mack Brown. I mean you gotta at least TRY!

Thius might be the beginning of the end for Lew leaving.  Everyone he called laughed at the idea of going to ku.  LEw is slowly realizing that ku football is a never was.

When a big dog like Mich state of kentucky comes calling, he is gone.

Don't be jealous, guys.  K-State will have a coach other than Old Man Winters someday.

Smells like a whole lot of ku and Husker envy going on here. Gill is going to do some damage to KSU and Nebraska. The stakes just got higher.  :-[

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I do not think it is a horrible hire by ku at all, but I do think TF will be lucky to have as much success as mangino had because of the overall strength of the conference.

This is the first important hire for Perkins. Not a homer from the perception standpoint. I would bet KSU fans were more excited about Prince than the ku football fan is about Gil.
At best an infield single for lewie

Correct answer:  Help you tear down your goalposts.

AWESOME

I was totally on the field in 2006 in the Pr0n Rince debut, mainly because I was sitting in the 4th row and there was no way I would get out of there alive if I didn't jump the fence :ohno:

Also rushed the field of Jones AT&T stadium after I snuck into Tech's student section with my best friend when they beat #4 OU in 2007. Some Lubbock cop had his baton out and tried to knock me down but I totally did my best d-line "swim move" around him and took his lunch money
