So the rumor is Chuck Long will be the OC in Lawrence.  I remember last year after being released from SDSU that if he didn't coach for some period of time he would be paid $$$.

Personally, I would rather have Chuck recruiting for us than for the birds!

is a pretty good hire IMHO.  Chuck Long, meh.  Now just waiting Bobby Elliott to surface.

I'll wait to see the entire staff before I pass judgement.

Sending out a heisman runner up to the beast Bo Jackson to recruit is much better than anything we can offer.  Now if they actually had Bo Jackson that would be a different story...

JFC.  Yep, you are right, Chuck Long just OOZES charisma.  Really it is the first thing I think of when I think Chuck Long.  Recruits today are all about Bo Jackson too.  Hell, winning the Heisman in 1985 means a TON to kids who were born in 1992.

That connection with Bo is almost as impressive as Gill's with Mike Rozier, another Heisman winner.  Got to impress.  Of course, if that fails, Chuck can always brag about handing off to Barry Sanders.  Of course, Sanders retired when they were 7, so you have to factor that in.

I will always admire Long's stellar records at SDSU.  He killed it there.

There are rumblings that this is going to be the "best coaching staff in the country". Apparently they're talking about Chuck Long being the offensive coordinator and Carl Torbush being the defensive coordinator. Apparently there are two other unnamed former head coaches that are on their way.

Sounds like a hella good staff of assistants to me!  Don't know about their recruiting ability, but I know I'd be ecstatic about that staff if I was a ku fan.

    Hey, basketball!!!
Would somebody tell me why Torbush would leave Mississippi State for ku? And why would Chuck Long be interested (other then because he is unemployed)?

Why would any legit assistant coach want to go coach under an unproven head coach?

    The very best.
didn't torbush get fired from tamu?
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Exactly our problem under Prince; nobody wanted to work for someone that new less than they did, and as a result you get the worst defense in then NCAA.

Is South Dakota D2?  Were they competitive with NWMo
