This isn't a joke question so I would like a few well thought answers (and OF COURSE some well done answeres) - but why is uk so hard to get a coach to come to? Just curious... all
are welcome. All (realistic) uk fans are welcome too. tia
My personal opinion is that there are four primary reasons in place right now....
1. It's a basketball school. This is a bigger deal than most will admit to. Donors give to basketball first. Alumni would rather travel to see a sweet sixteen game than a Cotton Bowl...
2. Mizzou is good right now. You won't last long at ku if you can't beat Mizzou. All coaches know that beating the rival is very important to alumni satisfaction.
3. Bill Snyder is back. Look, any new coach knows about Bill. You honestly think someone like Kevin Sumlin doesn't pause for a moment when he thinks "So, I will be expected to beat Bill Snyder more than he beats me." Bill's "status" is greater in no community than it is amongst other coaches.
4. An "National Coach of the Year" just lost 7 Big 12 games in a row. The talent is obviously depleted.
