because that is the argument they are stuck with.  lmao

Compare their overall records as HC's?

Tout all the all-MAC players Gill brought to Buffalo? Wait, what conference do they play in.

Geezus this is going to be one hilarious offseason.

Gill took over in 2006.  He had a first season just like Mangino's 2-10.  Then he's gone 5-7, 8-6 in 2008 (including beating previously undefeated Ball State in the MAC title game) and then 5-7 this year, with several close losses.  That put his his average win total at 5 per season.  Mangino won about 6 games per year at ku.

close losses. sounds familiar

1)  Gill is black
2)  Gill actually played football
3)  Gill doesn't yell at his players
4)  Gill recruits Nebraska
5)  Gill is black

They will say whatever they have to while weakly defending their reasoning.  Ultimately KSUfans gets to   at everything that is ku's coaching searhc.

Remember how everyone was saying Prince's ethnicity would be a major advantage in recruiting?  LOL, we used to be stupid too.

Technically, it was an advantage, just not enough to overcome the fact that Prince was a douche bag, and even 18 year old kids knew that.

Maybe, but if it isn't true for prince, it probably isn't true for gill either.  There are good coaches (like Charlie Strong) and there are bad coaches (like Turner Gill) -- race isn't going to be much of a factor for either of them.

Explain that please. Especially the part how a coach who hasn't ever been a head coach is automatically a good coach, and a coach who has been a head coach and dramatically improved his program is a bad coach.

Unless Lew has a skull full of manure(possible), it sounds like Tuberville.  Habaugh is probably angling for an NFL job, but getting the crap kicked out of him at ku for 3 years doesn't sound like the right road.

seriously, later today Harbaugh could announce that he is in fact going to be ku's next coach but it still won't matter. Lew is getting played. Flat out.

Easy:  Its Harbaugh or Tuberville

Good one Louises West!

You're about on par with BMW on calling your shots on this board. Better stick to hoops..and even then you blow balls.

With this hire, it's hard to see it as anything other than scrapping a moderately successful program with the gamble it can be rebuilt to moderate success. Weird really.
