Gill took over in 2006.  He had a first season just like Mangino's 2-10.  Then he's gone 5-7, 8-6 in 2008 (including beating previously undefeated Ball State in the MAC title game) and then 5-7 this year, with several close losses.  That put his his average win total at 5 per season.  Mangino won about 6 games per year at ku.

Maybe, but if it isn't true for prince, it probably isn't true for gill either.  There are good coaches (like Charlie Strong) and there are bad coaches (like Turner Gill) -- race isn't going to be much of a factor for either of them.

Explain that please. Especially the part how a coach who hasn't ever been a head coach is automatically a good coach, and a coach who has been a head coach and dramatically improved his program is a bad coach.
