Second, T. Gill would be considered a good hire.
Gill's record at Buffalo isn't that good, but not many coaches if any would not succeed there at a high level. Yes, he did go 5-7 this year but keep in mind he lost his QB and RB from last years 8 win team and Buffalo isn't really a place where you can just reload.
Gill was passed on twice by NU but understand the first time was for an NFL coach (Callahan) where I don't blame NU for going that route over Gill with much less HC experience. The 2nd time Tom O. wanted to get back to their "black shirt" ways, so they went with a defensive minded coach. I don't see a whole lot of negative on Gill. But no I'm not delusional, thinking like he is a Grand Slam hire. A good one, yes he would be.
