I'll bet that ku's big donors are getting tired of lew shaking them down for $$$$. It will be interesting to see how this next few weeks goes. I'm betting mangino gets paid 6 million plus to keep his mouth shut and now they have to come up with 8-10 million or so to sign a new coach for 5 years? LOL!

i think technically/legaly/contractually he has to "resign" otherwise he's due his money (see Ronald).  this is how a real AD works.  you get enough dirt so you don't have to pay him the entire buyout.  meanwhile ron's f'ing women at bars in fort hays.

True.  But I'm sure both sides agreed to this to keep from dragging this out any longer and Mangino still is coming out of this alright.

And we're comparing Lew to Krause here, not even a contest.  Lew is a pro, though I'm sure this thing got much muddier than he expected.

    Angry KSU Fan.
Mangino, who has a 4-4/5-3 record against ku's rivals, who brought them a 12 win season and an Orange bowl win, who made the first back to back bowl berths, and who was landing Kansas and Texas recruits that previously would have come to K-State..Is gone, having been forced out by the very people who contended he was the best coach in the country only a year prior.

 :dancin:

Funny thing about those who try to justify his firing because of his player treatment and temper..most of those problems occurred when he was winning.  They just happened to surface and become relevant when ku fans want him out.  Convenient.

Whatever the case, one thing is sure..this is very good for emaw nation.  First Snyder's return, then  :AA:, and now this.  We've won the recruiting war.  They just can't compete, being a basketball school in the middle of flyover country.  We've won the coaching war.  No way does ku find a competent replacement.

I'm guessing that since this did not go public ku is paying mm most/if not all the $$$ to keep him quiet. Like him or not mm got railroaded out of ku, I bet the finding of "the investigation" are never made public. lew never liked mm and 07 made it very inconvient to fire him back then and he has been waiting for any excuse to get rid of him since.

So, how come K-State never used "Bunny" against Ron.  That whole Hays trip was a disaster, and unbecoming of a head coach--he should have been canned for that trip alone.

Damn it, I was hoping for a "Mangino's last stand" speech where he takes others down with him.

No, that's the part where Perkins uses a buttload of ku money to pay off Mangino in a non-disclosure contract.  God knows what Mangino knows about that cesspool basketball program--all we see are the unintentional disclosures that I suspect are the tip of the iceberg of misconduct at ku athletics (Mongoloid Morris driving Scott Pollard's SUV at 2 in the morning with a 16 year old girl--17 is age of consent in Kansas, the campus race brawls, etc.).  No one who pays money to ku will know that Perkins gave away the store to keep Mangino quiet, and Lew is a master of shifting money around to keep everything looking normal.  In another life, Perkins would be a master check-kiter.

Me too whale, I bet he could have exposed a lot of dirt which is why I believe MM will get a huge golden parachute from the ku gig.

16 is the age of consent in Kansas. Poor bastard, gave up a whole one-year-age-range.
