Any of you chumps had LASIK surgery?  I'm considering it, but a little  :ohno:

It doesn't seem too expensive, but what's the recovery like?

Hurt for like 30ish seconds during procedure alot... eyes stung til I got home, passed out off meds, woke up being able to barely open eyes and see, took more meds, went to bed, woke up in morning could see pretty darn good... sensitive to lights, wind for a day or two.... wind more week or two. Just use lots of eye drops for a month or two... then now as needed.

When I had the consult, the doc said the insides of my eyes were too much of FP's for LASIK.  Got Surface PRK (?).  Less "cutting" but longer recovery time.  The weekend after the surgery sucked.  The week after, I was fairly non-functional.  Get some odd sensations every once in a while.  Pretty good vision now 2 months later.  Doc says it will gradually get to perfect within a year.  I'm pretty happy about it.

Don't want the cloudy eyes problem with lasik.   They need to fix that.

Happened to red head comedian Kathy.

Best money I ever spent.  6 years out and still perfect vision, with no problems.

The procedure is only as bad as you expect it will be.  If the thought of it freaks you out, then don't do it.  I actually thought it was cool and sort of enjoyed the surgery.  There was bad afternoon following procedure w/ light sensitivity and irritation, but fine after about 3-5 days.  Worst thing for me is not rubbing your eyes, which I do alot.
