I think a good thing to do at the start of practice would be to have everyone sign a "contract" with the coach, saying that they will buy in.  Then, if they start to not buy in during the course of the season you could pull out the sheet and remind them that they signed an agreement.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.
