patterson wasn't even interested in an extension, just wanted to launch a giant "F*CK YOU" over to Lew Perkins

Would have been more emphatic if he would have interviewed, appeared very interested, got down to the final details of the contract, then leaned back in his chair and said:
"Eh, go eff yourself. I hate ku. ku sucks. Now leave me alone, I have BCS games to win."

Lew would have just gone with the "You've never won an Orange Bowl in 2007" retort.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

    I think therefore I think I'm hungry
What was Krause offering him??  Somewhere around $2.2 to $2.3 million a year wasn't it??

It was something like that, but there was probably also a secret $100 million buy out.

Exactly, and then proceeded to put out a really cheap cigar on GP's hand.

    Knows What Brent Did...
if he wants to come home he'll coach for peanuts, if not, he's not as desirable

Nobody is every going to take a paycut to come to KSU

Great. Now we're evaluating coaches the same way we evaluate recruits.

I only want coaches that really want to be here and do things the right way.

    I may be full of sh*t, but i won't be de-turd.
LOL, what a bunch of optimists.

Ever think he may just want to stay at tcu?

Yeah, I mean why wouldn't he want to stay at tcu? I mean he's undefeated and looking to play at a BCS(not championship) game.
I walk out of that tunnel in this building and the passion of our fans, just gets me going. I mean just gives me an adrenaline rush that you guys just don't understand. - Frank Martin

yeah because that's exactly what i said and i represent the athletic department's thoughts perfectly

you're really smart

i just said he'd be less desirable, not that we wouldn't still want him.

it's obviously better to have a good coach that loves the school and the program than a good one that will bolt to west virginia in a year

he's going to have just about the best season anyone could have at tcu this year and if texas doesn't lose, they have no shot at a national championship and even if texas does lose they probably still don't get in.

sounds fun
More fun than the little 10 in your conference. UTerus slips and we are in. If not, pocket the 17MM and move to next year. This was a rebuilding year and we graduate a whopping 13 Seniors.

Hard to believe that it has been a year since "The Fitzeration".

BTW, the previous contract was through 2014. New one is rumored at 2.9MM through infinity. However, since 2012 is the end of the World it doesn't matter.

Why is it that their coach signs a big extension, they're on the cusp of maybe getting a shot at a national title, and yet, they are over on a KSU board to see what we have to say?

Because talking crap and feeling superior is fun.  Hence why I've been on the Phog daily in the last 6 weeks.

LOL. This is the life of the non-majors.

Let me clarify with an analogy:

Hot girls that grow up in the middle/upper class become models, lawyers, weather girls, etc.
Hot girls that grow up poor with daddy issues become strippers and crack whores.

I just like officially sanctioned tourneys. Particularly the ones where you play 2 maybe 3 games per day.
