I guess they are actually broke.

One look inside Dal Ward would cement your assumption. Plus they need to drop some serious cash to modernize Folsom's facilities. I'm as sick of Hawkins' act as any CU fan but I understand the decision. I just hope he doesn't go above .500 next year and fool the tards/administration into an extension like Pinkel has done at MU.

edit: By "understand" I don't mean "support". Despite probably the highest average alumni wealth in the B12 they are hamstrung by TABOR, etc.

That's great news.  Would have been really sad to see him go.

Meltdown Alert!!

Subject: At the End of the Day, the buck stops with BackBohnLess
Posted by: Harvest House on Thu Nov 26 2009 10:09:21 AM
Message:

I know some will argue that Hawk pulled an end around and reaffirmed
his support from Benson and Distefano when Bohn was in Hawaii....and
this made it difficult for Bohn to pull the lever. I am calling
Bul^crap.

Maybe Bohnhead should not have taken a vacation to Maui for a OOC
Hoops Tourney with the tenous situation of the football program.
Maybe he should have been the guy meeting with BB and PD and not
Hawk. At the end of the day, I actually don't think BackBohnLess
had the balls to fire Hawk.

That is F+ck up #3 for our AD: 1)Hiring Hawk, 2)Extending Hawk 3)Not
Firing Hawk.
People can criticize Dick Tharp all they want. Dick
was not the hardest worker in Boulder County, not a good alumni ass
kisser...that is for sure. But he had a helluva lot better
leadership skills than BackBohnLess and was a better Athletic
Director (see W-L records of the three major programs if you have
any doubt). Dick Tharp would have shown far better decision making
skills yesterday than the one that squats to take a piss.

Bohn must go! THE PRIDE AND TRADITION OF THE COLORADO BUFFALOES
WILL NOT BE ENTRUSTED TO THE TIMID OR WEAK. Can anyone think of two
more appropriate adjectives to describe Mike Bohn?

I feel your pain, Buffies!   :bootyshake:

The sad thing is Pinkel is much more competent.

It doesn't get much weirder than publicly admitting that you should not have recruited your son.

That said I'm still hoping The Hawk takes it to the Huskers.

Hawkins kind of reminds me of Houston Nutt, minus the capacity to coach football; both are so drunk on charisma, I'm not sure their players ever know when to take them seriously.

Nutt will always have a little spot in my heart for making the Nubb administration sit on that tarmac for hours while he dissed them.

Can you imagine the belly laughs coming out of his office while him, his boosters, and the UA admins laughed about those stupid yankess sitting on that tarmac?

Meanwhile, Nebraska goes out and beats your worthless school five years in a row. Five!  That's half of your supposed "Decade of Dominance", which Nebraska also dominated.  LOL.  Steve Pedersen was an absolute moron, approaching Krause/Wefald levels.  But there's not a sane Nebraska fan out there who would trade Bo Pelini for Houston Nutt.  Enjoy mediocrity... oh wait, that's just the status quo for KSUcks.  Enjoy normalcy then.

Bo resembles the nubb nation in so many ways.  Ugly as hell.  Possibly retarded.  Most likely inbred.  Drunk most of the time.  Cries like a bitch win he loses.  He's like the perfect UNL coach.

Feel bad for Hawk.  Team is obviously able to beat NU, ripping off huge chunks of yardage but then pees their pants in red zone.

I seriously didn't think we'd be so lucky as to have Hawkins around for another year. A new coach might have been able to do something with all of the talent that they have there. If they can't afford to blow him away this year, I'm not sure they can do it next year either... he may complete his contract the way their athletic department handles money. That would be great for anybody in the Big XII N. not in Boulder, CO.

Good luck Hawk! Keep up the good work.
