At least Denver will have three teams in the playoffs. That's good, right?

Yeah they're amazing. They struggled with aging key players and salary cap issues the last few years (the imposition of the rule after the lockout was really starting to affect the Avs which were high spenders). They had their worst season ever last year and missed the playoffs for just the second time in team history. Consequently they received some good draft picks which, combined with the existing young talent and the remaining veterans have really gelled. People (me included) keep expecting the 'run' to end once the youngsters get tired of the NHL grind but it hasn't happened yet and they're 1/3 of the way through the season. At some point they'll probably lose 3-5 straight and people will get down on them, but if they don't make the playoffs this season it will be kinda surprising. Not bad for a bunch of 18-23 year olds.
