If it keeps Snyder around for 5 more years it's a bargain.  He'll likely want to coach his grandson...don't ya' think?  He'll have 84 other scholarships to play with, if indeed it's a scholarship deal in the first place.

Tate could be the next local Manhattan All Big 12 product or something to that nature....

With all his coach-em-ups throughout his life, he will beat you with fundamentals.

I actually went to an MHS game this past fall, so I saw Tate play.  Unfortunately, since the Indians were a juggernaut this year, and I only got there in time for the second half, I didn't see him play much (since the starters got pulled).  He had lots of tackles, but I only saw one play where he impressed -- chasing down a player from the backside of a play.  He certainly didn't jump out at me, but then again, neither did Derek Campbell and I gather everyone agrees Campbell projects as a college player.

Questionable whether Snyder deserves a scholarship (to my non-professional eyes), but he wasn't a scrub either.

People around me in the stands were saying that he should walk-on at KSU since grandpa can afford to pay his tuition.

If the coach pays the athlete's expenses to avoid a scholarship, it that legal?
I would think it might  be an NCAA violation.   Maybe an exception for son or grandson.  Anyone check this out?

If it's your kid/grandkid you can.  Bill could buy him a Ferrari to drive around town in and it's kosher.

Snyder deserves to gives his grandson a scholarship to his grandson if he wants to IMO, but it seems to me like both Dad & Grandad have more than enough $$ to pay his way, thus opening an additional scholarship for the program.

Bottom Line:  Tate is good for the Snyder family, bad for the KSU family.  Don't believe the hype about the one big family thing.
