Be honest. I mean, let's be real. In the past 3 years of the Snyds offense, our starting QB's have averaged 2.98, 2.5, 1.9 and 1.8 ypc. And they are getting a ton of carry's.

It's pretty crazy how many sh*tty qb's we've had since the Boss (Mr. Ell Roberson the Third) Had to leave us.

Even ell averaged 4.3/5.2 ypc...and that mother f*cker was one of the smoothest runners you'll ever seee. I doubt harper and run like my best friend Ell Roberson could.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

sacks hurt their ypc.

why don't they count that vs passing stats? idiotic.

but, still. gregory was prolly our best runner out of the meier/evridge/webb combo, and he wasn't that great.

btw: webb wasn't a great runner. it's not a guarnetee that sammy lamsy or chris-H will be an elite E3 type of runner.

I like the QB run game when it comes via the option.  Don't care for designed QB runs in the shotgun.

I'll be honest...I love me some QB run game.  Options, QB draws, QB sweeps, Read Options....love 'em all.  But not with the qb's we've had since Ell.  It kind of makes my eyes bleed watching the QB run game with Webb, AE, DM, and GG.  How snyds hasn't stumbled on an athlete to put back there in nearly a decade is mind boggling.

Ron Prince offense vs. LSnyder offense-- I pick LSnyder hands down, life sucked without the option game at ksu IMO

It is essential in the college game. How many pro-type offenses succeed in college football? USC? Yea maybe but even Pete Carroll might want to rethink his offense because programs like Florida have left him in the dust.

Have you seen Harper run? He's every bit as good of a runner as E3. He just can't throw worth a damn. Also, E3's recievers, oline, and sproles had a lot to do with him averaging more per carry. Teams couldn't always spy him because guys could get open, the ol could protect, and darren sproles took a ton of attention. IF teams would have focused on E3, sproles would torch them (See 2003 Big XII Ship).

well, we'll have a really nice line next year, and daniel thomas (who does a lot of things better than sproles)

telling me harpie runs like elsie is very exciting.

Speaking of Ell, his running and passing - was there anything more bea-u-tee-ful then when Ell would perform the fake option pass? It was perhaps my fav play during the Ell era.

That is the beauty of the Snyder offense when run properly.   If you want to defend the option and QB run game you've got to bring up a safety into the box so you're not out numbered at the point.  Once you do that then you throw it deep over the top.   Don't need to hit a high precentage of passes just need to hit a hand full of deep balls per game.  It's pretty freaking simple but it works when you have the right people to run it.

CAll me a tard but I'm kind of intrigued by Lamur.  He's 6'4" athletic and they say he can throw it 80 yards.  He may not have pin point accuracy but he can throw it deep which is what it takes in this offense.  We'll have the o-line, we'll have the RB, if we have the right WR's that can go up and get it down the field in single coverage (Brod Smith? Lamark?) then Lamur just might have the tools you need in this offense.

Dude threw to Taco, Terry, lil Locket, Moreira, Derrick Evans, Polite, Casey, T Hill.  Not exactly a list of AAs, but I would certainly like to have that group around next year.

I doubt harper and run like my best friend Ell Roberson could.

You're wrong there, my man.

Bigger, faster Roberson.

Great part of college football and I'm glad its a big part of Snyder's offense.  We need to find a playmaker though to make it work the way it can.  Hopefully we either have one or are bringing in one.

agreed. this may just be a case of "pw being pw"

no way harper has the "slitheryness" of ell roberson (fatty fat fat's best friend)

He's not quicker, but he does have better top end speed.

He also is not as smooth, doesn't glide like Ell, he's a little more jerky and violent, which means he cuts a little sharper. Faster change of direction, less acceleration.

All this equates to them ultimately being similarly effective, just with slightly different strengths. (When we are taking about Ell we are talking about the greatest QB who ever lived, after all.)

I honestly do not care, at all, how well he can throw the ball, doesn't matter even a little. Should/will start.

P.S.
No one. No one is better friends than Ell and PoetWarrior.

I don't think the questions on Harper are about his runing ability.  He's bigger, stronger and faster then Ell.  Probably not as elusive and maybe not a better overall runner then Ell but still he's a more then capable runner.  The problem is I don't think he can throw the ball more then about 30 yards and he can't hit the broad side of a barn.
