My sources are telling me that it is without a doubt Jon Gruden.  Apparently the thought of going to ND to deal with the Catholics is too much for him (He's a Presbyterian).  A second reason is that he REALLY wants to get back into college coaching as he found that the professional athletes were more of a babysitting gig than a coaching one.  Third reason, he loves to hunt and comes to Kansas often to hunt with some friends out West.  Fourth reason, his wife grew up in the Kansas City area and she's been waiting for an opportunity to come back.  She wants Jon to take the KC job but again he doesn't want to deal with trying to coach up professional athletes.  Put it in the bank its... ITS GRUDEN!

JFC.  Lawrence has more inbread parochials than ND.  No sane top-flight coach would want to deal with the delusional administration there, Harvard of the Plains delusional.  They might throw enough money at someone, though, then we'll need to weather the bragging of future conquests (kind of like August this year when ku was picked to win the North).

Pretty sure I heard not too long ago that Gruden extended his contract for 1 or 2 years with ESPN as an announcer.

Gruden just extended his ESPN contact.

Everybody is looking at pictures of Jimmy Johnson down there in Florida hanging out on his boat with the babes, all sunburned and boozed up . . . and telling themeselves there's no reason to go back into coaching when you're pulling down major jack to work half a year . . . that's why I kind of laugh when I hear about guys like Cowher getting back into coach . . . why??  He's got a ring, he's been to the very top of the mountain, no doubt CBS pays him well . . . he's got a freakin Mansion in North Raleigh, he's minutes away from his Alma Mater's football stadium where he's loved and adored . . . why go back into the nut cracker of coaching??

Sources are saying that Lew Perkins has ties to Turner Gill, and he'll be the next head coach at Kansas.  Gill recently declined the Western Kentucky HC job, so appears to be open to making a change.  So, is Turner Gill > Mark Mangino?

Our luck it will be Patterson :(
It's a tremendous challenge here. I think it has the opportunity for the greatest turnaround in college football. It is not one to be taken lightly. ---------- Bill Snyder ( Nov 30th, 1988)

When Prince breaks out his three-ring binder to their new black chancellor, it's gonna be .

Deep...

Sucking at K-State was part of the binder. His ultimate gig was ku. Wanted to tear down K-State so ku can rise up. Easy to see with a couple of upsets over Texas followed by losses to ku that Ron was underselling K-State early. Then Lew would fire Mangino and hire Prince.

But, K-State hiring back Snyder wasn't in the binder...

Patterson leave tcu? No way... Boise State's Peterson though, Kansas is a big school and could be appealing. That'd be where I'd put my money, but I don't know too much about his situation. Heard he beat OU in some worthless bowl game though  :D
