Hey CU fan here again.    :chainsaw:
A big subject of conversation on our boards this week is whether or not Ron Prince will explode  when KSU loses to the Buffs this weekend. The general consensus is yes indeed. But then you know him better than we do.

Why do people fart?

Dear Reader,

Let's face it, everyone farts. The act of farting, or flatulence, can be a surprising, often embarrassing, potentially stinky, and sometimes outright booming experience that many people would be more than happy to do without. Seriously, though, when it comes down to it, what's farting all about? There must be a good reason, or two, for the, a-hem, unpleasant flatus, a.k.a., gas, right?

Well, for starters, the gas that makes up a fart comes from two sources: more originates from the breakdown of food by the digestive system, and some is from swallowed air. In the first case, foodstuffs are broken down by enzymes, stomach acids, and intestinal bacteria in order for the energy in them to be made available to the body. Through the processes of digestion and fermentation, gases can be liberated from what's eaten. In the second case, air that a person swallows from eating, drinking, breathing, chewing gum, and being stressed, among other ways of entry, that's not expelled during a burp travels through the stomach and intestine, transforming into fart-ready mode. In either case, the gases flow down through the rest of the digestive tract and eventually exit the body — Poof! Ping! Pfft! Toot-toot! Kaboom! — expelled as a fart, or farts. And this silent or noisy expulsion of air can help bring about some relief and comfort from a buildup of gas within the lower part of the body.

By the way, the gases that make up a fart are composed mostly of hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and methane. Farts smell obnoxious because of the breakdown of compounds containing sulfur (think rotten eggs). Some foods, such as cabbage, eggs, onions, and meat, contain more sulfur than others, which is why some farts smell worse than other farts.

For more info, a good source worth checking out is Shinta Cho's book, The Gas We Pass: The Story of Farts.

Haven't ran across an actual number yet but one thing seems obvious, there is less tolerance toward losing to such a program than there is loading up the non-conference schedule with them every year.

But then I suppose someone needs to be charitable and help the little guy make a few bucks.

what will the attendance be? It was non-existant during teh 2004 game
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Despite the embarrasing record the fans have been coming. Bohn seems to be getting the job done in that regard.
40,000 to 45,000 is the guess. And me stuck in Hicksville, West Texas trying to keep up on ESPN gamecast and Allbuffs.com game thread.

Always some, not sure what kind of cash will be involved. It would be more if we were winning.

I've been up for the 2000, 2002 and 2004 games.

The last two were total killers.

I've read some the threads on this site and I agree there is more of a rivalry between the two schools than most Buff fans are willing to admit. You are viewed as an upstart, not credible because of your annual nonconference schedule. I think your players are aware of it and rise to meet the challenge. Then the Buffs don't want to look bad losing to KSU. It makes for some good football games!

It was a great rivarly with Barnett and Snyder. Those were two damn good coaches who hated each other.

It really isn't much of one now, hopefully we start winning north titles soon.

Or, it could be that our players don't like guys who rape chicks.

I take it that you can't get cable at your trailer park yet...

Those of us in Dallas will be watching the game on Fox Sports Net.

Will the Buff's SID run out that stupid ass injury report or will he be too busy calling strippers and call girls for the CU players to rape?

 :jerkoff:

Yeah, #5 Louisville was a cupcake compared to that CU non-con schedule.  OK, fifth downer- here's the difference.  We beat the cupcakes on our schedule.  Sometimes not by much, but it's still a "W" at the end of the day.  We don't have fifth downs and we don't fondle the kicker.  That pretty much boils it down.

CU-

Fondles the kicker
Loses to cupcakes
Fifth Down

Glad to hearHawkins got that door painted, though.

Funny, Colorado is either the last or second to last North foe that I would want to beat the most. It goes something like ku, NU, Mizzou, ISU, then CU. If we incorporated all of the south teams, it would be something like this... ku,NU,Mizzou,Texas,OU,A&M,Tech,OSU,ISU,CU,Baylor... It is kind of weird that you guys think of us as a rival..

Raping girls; I don’t like it either. I’ll put on a KSU uniform and join your team if that is their motivation.
Trailer Park: If you only knew!
W’s that are “O” so meaningful to the BCS
Non conference schedules: Louisville and who?
5th down: He who laughs last……the “Show Me” state will never get over that one but we sure have.
Rivalry: after careful study of three numbers 43 and 17 and 1 you are certainly right, not much of a rivalry.

Thanks to one of your own who cordially invited all Buff fans over for a visit to your web site. Its been fun and I’ll be back for some more cerebral exercise and a bit of rib poking soon.

This is jagoff CU fan for you.  Same crap every year.  You could schedule the Packers and they say, "Yeah, but who ELSE did you schedule?"  Like the fact that KSU scheduled a better team than anyone on CU's schedule doesn't mean anything.

You played Georgia close, though.

Combined records of KSU's non-con opponents- 19-12.

Combined records of CU's non-con opponents- 21-13.

Yeah, that schedule is SO much stronger than ours.  Especially when you consider that we got three more wins out of it.

Just do yourself a favor and drop the schedule BS.  It doesn't apply this year.  If CU is going to win its because...

A) Neither offense is very good
-and-
B) The game is in Boulder

The result Saturday will have nothing to do with anyone's schedule.  The only difference is that CU will be busy hosting the Ricardo Patton farewell tour while we've still got a chance to make a bowl game.

And here I thought you’d be happy I was agreeing with you about the rivalry thing.

You guys have taken a lot of grief about scheduling for several years now and I probably should have resisted temptation, but don’t you really think all that will change with Prince? Although I think Hawkins was a good choice at the time I was hoping CU would have made a play for Prince when his name came up for KSU. The pedigree is just too solid to ignore. I think if Prince has anything to say about it there will be plenty of bigs in your schedule. And shame on you guys for not pointing out Marshall was probably playing 10 -1 ball when this years schedule was put up on the board. Is it really your teams fault the Thundering Herd hasn’t been all that lately?

EdHarley’s right too, this game plays out much better when both schools are 8 -1 regardless of the hometown. SOON ED SOON, and we'll be ready for ya.
And hey swish1, who knows I may just be a fan of Purple “Puss and Boots” in disguise  :ksu:

KSU has Miami, UCLA, Louisville and Fresno State on future schedules, and may play Georgia next year.

Okay, so somebody help me out here.  I can understand being dicks to the Nebraska socks that came over a couple of weeks ago and was a prick the entire time he was here, but this Swish character seems to want to talk football and he's being treated like the nubb sock.  Is there something going on here that the rest of us don't know about?

Thanks Ninja,  8)
All banter aside what can the Buffs expect from the Cats this year?
Snyder led teams: Aways a dominant D especially @ LB and Corner and a QB that could drive a team nuts with footwork and enough passing to keep a defense on its heels. (Like Bishop)
Honestly I'm not familiar enough with Prince and Co.'s body of work this year to know exactly how this plays out.
There are stats a plenty on ESPN, FOX and SI but what's the real story of this team?

What to expect from the offense........   We wonder the same thing from game to game.  The one sure thing I can say is we won't have any pass protection for any longer than 2 seconds;  We're more likely to get TD's from long break away plays as when we get into the redzone we become predictable and usually get stuffed.  Sadly if we can't get a running game going this game will probably hinge on field goals.... You clearly have us there.

Defense.  Pressure from the ends, fast LB's, dwindeling depth at DB's yet still aggressive.  I'll be surprised if you score over ten on us.  We'll probably create atleast 2 turnovers....  Although, the worst performances our D has had was on the road... so anything can happen.
