ESPNews just reported that Weis has been contacted by at least 6 NFL teams about being their OC

I'm also hearing that, although people will deny it, it is true that Bob Stoops is headed to South Bend for an interview

Other jobs with big names attached to them:

Mike Martz might head to Arizona State to be the new OC

Virginia is going to make a move and you can expect Boise State's Chris Petersen and  Tommy Tuberville to be on their list

Louisville will look at Florida DC Charlie Strong, Alabama OC Jim McIlwain, Houston's Kevin Sumlin, Central Michigan's Butch Jones, Tuberville, Buffalo's Turner Gill and Texas Tech's Mike Leach

Uconn isn't really that good this year, so I don't know why ku would get so excited about that.

They did have some unusual circumstances and you can't argue that the program has come a long way in a short time

I'm surprised Strong hasn't received more looks over the last couple years.  If he's not hc somewhere next season then there must be some serious behind the scenes sh*t going down.

    The "other" KSU
I look at Loo-Vull's success as a pretty big step down from KSUs, so why in the FCK is it so obvious to their athl dept that they really need to hit a homerun with their next HC and we piss down our leg and rehire OBz and just allow this VERY nice crop of HC prospects to get picked up by other schools? Weefs/Fitz/Krause gang raped this team in ways that will be horribly evident in the not-so-distant future.

Kinda assumed he was the HCIW and would take over when Meyer finally bolts for the NFL.  He was the interim after Zook, so he seems like the logical candidate.

Personally, I don't see Meyer going anywhere anytime soon.  College coaches don't have much success at the pro level and right now he's one of the highest paid coaches in the nation at arguably the best program in the nation.  If Strong is the hciw then I hope he doesn't mind waiting a while.

I think you underestimate the tremendous egos these guys have.  That lack of success didn't keep Saban, Petrino, Spurrier, Switzer, Holtz, etc from thinking that they were a good enough coach to make it work.  Plus, there's always gonna be an owner (like a Dan Snyder, for example) in the NFL that will really back the truck up for a coach if that's what it takes to entice him to make the leap.  You really think that if Jerry Jones came calling, Meyer would be able to turn him down?

I agree that big dollar offers are going to be tempting and I agree that coaches often think with their egos first, but I just don't see him leaving.  Florida is arguably the premier institution in America and money is not really an issue.  He has established himself there, the fans would take a bullet to the balls for him, and his potential is endless.  I just don't see him leaving anytime in the next 5 years.

Looks like tcu and Gary Patterson have agreed to a new contract so you can probably take his name out of Notre Dame, and anybody else's, discussions.

Now that I actually have the time to sit and look at today's landscape I can tell you this:

1. G.P. has agreed to a contract extension at tcu
2. Bob Stoops, Will Muschamp and Urban Meyer all say that they're not interested in ND but we'll see now that a job is actually available
3. Brian Kelly seems to be the clubhouse leader to go to ND but Al Golden and Jon Gruden's names won't go away
4. Jim Harbaugh has a new deal at Stanford so that should eliminate him
5. There seems to be mutual interest between Coach Fran and UNLV
6. Glen Mason and Carl Pelini are both on Akron's radar
7. Alot of names for the Louisville job: Kevin Sumlin (Houston HC), Butch Jones (Central Michigan HC), Tommy Tuberville (Former HC at Ole Miss/Auburn), Turner Gill (Buffalo HC), Tommy Bowden (Former Clemson HC), Phil Fulmer (Former Tennessee HC), Mike Leach (Texas Tech HC), Karl Dorrell (Former UCLA HC) and Charlie Strong (Florida DC)

1. makes since and will be the result
2. Turner is not stupid. When Bo Peep gets let go in a few years for beating his players, Tom will turn to Turner
3. Skip to Virginia is a good match.

I think Mangino keeps his job for the sole reason that Lew won't be able to find any other decent alternatives.

I was watching the SEC Championship Game and flipped over to the USC game, it is closer to the end and surprisingly not a blowout, just in time to see the headline "Notre Dame to announce coach tomorrow, Stoops denies interest" go across the bottom of the screen which got me to thinking.....

Is Bob Stoops going to be named head coach at Notre Dame tomorrow? It was said today that Cincinnati's Brian Kelly is open to listening to Notre Dame but maybe they're tired of waiting for him to get through with this whole Cincinnati to the BCS thing.

ESPN.com sure seems to think that this is going to happen. What a way for Notre Dame to steal the bowl spotlight since they're not going to be in one.

they really aren't.  it's a non-issue down here.  Stoops has repeated himself 4 times in the past week that he has no interest in ND.  ESPN just wants to have a story where there is none.  I'm not a big Stoopsy fan, but the guy is smart and isn't going anywhere.

it's one thing for a coach to say "not interested" once and then go there anyway...but stoops has said it 4 times, THIS WEEK.  ESPN is just reaching for a story where there is none.
