Notre Dame is going to fire Charlie Weis and pursue Bob Stoops who has told confidants that he would be interested in taking over the Irish.

Got any links on the confidants stuff?

The Chicago Sun was reporting the Stoops and Ferrantz rumors, though it was just Notre Dame alums mouthing off again.

I've heard more noise about Brian Kelly from Cincy than either of those guys but Weis will definitely be fired after this year.

Another rumor--  ND is still a top-tier college football program in the 21st century and the penultimate destination for a coach.

but I would think Chip Kelly would be the Irish's No. 1 target, the shine is kind of off Bob Stoops right now. I have no doubt however that IF Stoops left Norman, the Sooners would deal a death blow to KSU...Gary Patterson.

Thanks Fitz.

If the Sooners ever do get G-Patt it will be crazy how many past EMAW's that they have stolen away from us. We might have to switch our #1 rival from Texas to OU in that situation.

    ANGRY AS F*CK
No way Bob ever leaves OU.  Not a chance.  He could murder a toddler at midfield get a standing ovation.  No job pressures, loads of money.  He's in Norman forever.

I think we all should come to the realization that G-Patt will end up at a BCS school (more than likely in the Big 12) and it won't be us.  No way he patiently waits for his alma mater to come calling again especially since we fracked it up so bad last time. Colorado, Kansas and Okalahoma (if Stoops goes to ND) will all be available before Snyder decides to step down again.

I think Bob Stoops would be a pretty good hire for ND.

Obvious perfect time for Prince to re-enter Irish discussions.

    The very best.
if weis leaves, can we raid their recruits?
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

If Stoops leaves OU, the hot name to replace him will be Houston's Kevin Sumlin. Also hearing that there's interest on both sides for Mike Leach to go to Louisville.

Obvious perfect time for Prince to re-enter Irish discussions.

"Now, let me just put that one to rest right now. I am not, nor have I ever been a candidate for the head coaching job at Notre Dame. I am officially removing my name from the hypothetical list of candidates. I have not been contacted by Notre Dame, nor do I expect to be contacted by Notre Dame. I am not a candidate for the head coaching job at Notre Dame."
