Nothing more pathetic than the recruiting junkie (fanatic). There Should be a real men of genius commercial about you guys. "I watch a 2 minute clip of a kids senior in HS and can tell he is the next Barry Sanders. If we sign him the sears trphy is ours."

Trust me, Catfanatic, I wish I could break down film of the QB's Snyder is currently recruiting.  Let me know where we can find it.

Again I only said KSU's football program will be just fine with or without Newton. I am a lot more worried about both o-line and especially d-line recruiting than I am for QB.

Ahhh yes, "We'll be fine with or without him".  One of my all time favorite powertard post-rationalization lines to absolve failure from this coaching staff.  I guess it all depends on your definition of "fine".  Fine like competing for a Big XII Title or fine like 04' or 05' when we didn't have a Division 1 QB on scholarship either?  There is a difference.

I got a friend who plays on kstate. Ryan Manes, a walk on QB from my town ( ellsworth). He said Sam Lamur is pretty good, good enough to be the guy next year, but the only thing is, HE IS frackING STUPID!! LIKE HE CANT MEMORIZE PLAYS and crap lol.. so he just needs a frackn brain. And Chris Harper is a WR for next year. But other than sam, i cnt think of anyone. that could be decent.

this.  apparently, it's not that he can't get the audibles or get people in the right plays, he literally just can't remember what to do on each play.

Sounds more and more like an A Webb clone every day.  (Except for the not even being good enough to start at two consecutive JUCO's part)

He's clearly Allen Webb part two.

Brian Casey was under direct orders from Snyder to call the check offs at the line of scrimmage when, not if, Webb &@#%ed them up.  Casey was also given authority to call the play in the huddle when, not if, Webb &@#%ed it up.

Apparently OB reached some sort of comfort level with this.  With Mastrud gone, who will call the check offs and plays next year? :dunno:

I would guess that Smith Center fullback kid but we won't have a FB on the field at all times so that could cause problems.

Newton has said time and again that EVERYONE IS EVEN and that he'll take all his visits, and he isn't even thinking about recruiting until his season's over. His words, not mine. I think we've got a better shot at Newton than some would believe.

Hey Bro, I love to dream just as much as the next guy, but it's not happening.  Terry Pierce said that given what he knows of the situation, he's not even bothering to follow Cam Newton any longer.  Dude owns a football site where a portion of the revenue comes from football recruiting coverage and he isn't bothering to cover anything related to Cam Newton any longer.  Like, not at all.  It's over, according to Terry....pssssst, between you and me, Terry talks to the staff about this stuff and frequently reports precisely what they tell him....don't let that leave this board though, ssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh  :-X

Maybe Weibert?  Whoever it is will have to do more than just call the play, it'll be like

Lemur:  "Coach says 22 Dive Right, on three."

Team: "Ready, BREAK."

Weibert: "Psssssst Sam, that's the one where you run directly up the right side of my ass."

Lemur:  "Wut"

Weibert: "Run ball forward."

Lemur:  "Wut"

Wiebert: "JFC"

Don't think that would work.  Would have to be a position that can stand up to get the audibles from the sideline and relay them to those in the interior (not a split wideout) so it pretty much leaves us with RBs/FBs/TEs.  No offense to DT but that leaves us with FBs/TEs.

he doesn't understand/remember the plays, regardless of where they are coming from.  he will need someone to explain exactly what to do on each play.  imagine coaching kids football for the first time.  you don't say the play name, you say "pitch it to billy to the right".  but I can see ways around this, use a wrist band that has little descriptions on it.  so all we'd have to do on the sidelines is signal "play 1" and sammy can look down on his wrist and see "take snap underneath center, turn to your right, hand off to runningback".  probably only get about 8 plays per wrist, depending on the font.

"My top three schools are Tennessee, Mississippi State and Kansas State," he said. "There is no order for them right now. They are all even. I am not favoring anyone at this point. I am focused on our season first right now. That is my main concern. After we are done, I will take my visits and make a decision on where I will go to school next year."

And Tenn might get another commit.

Pete, I would believe that if it weren't for the fact that he's visiting us within the next month. I suppose that could change anyday but it hasn't of yet. Also, as opcat mentioned, TN is likely going to get a commitment from another QB named Simms, meaning it's between us and Miss. St.

My point was, it's dumb to assume that just because some HS WR is spouting off about Miss. St. bringing in a high profile QB doesn't mean that Newton is committed there. I doubt if that WR has even met Newton or even knows who he is. What is Mullen supposed to say to the kid "we have a buncha crappity players that can't throw the ball to you, commit and be our only good player?"

Even if Mullen does believe he's got Newton in his back pocket, doesn't mean a thing til it comes from Newton's mouth.

Bishop was an idiot but made up for it by being a freak.

Sammy Lamur is talent but not even Roberson-ish in terms of athleticism.

Not sure about the Allen Webb comparisons...but lets just accept the reality that we have ZILCHO on the radar for QB this year.

Its Harper, Lamur, or Coffman (omg)....and just go from there.

The hair certainly enhances the gangster persona, but I was referring to the fact that he looks like he's about to shank the photographer.

I dont care what any of you say, Chris Harper will most likely play WR next year. I know it sounds stupid, id rather have him at QB. My friend ryan said " he's playing both, but most likely at wr next year, Sam Lamur is good but dumb as &@#%"... So in my eyes. Quarterback- Coffman ( plz god no) Sam, and Harper depending if he plays wr..
