Thanks to ksufreak for pointing this out...

From an update on Torain Richardson:

Quote
"Right now I'd say Mississippi State is the top school," he said. "It's not real far from home. I have a former teammate, (freshman WR) Ricco Sanders, he's there. They run the same offense my team runs, and they got a big-time quarterback coming in and they throw the ball a lot. They run the spread offense, which I run right now, so I love the spread offense."

Cam Newton conversations on this board are now officially over.  I don't want to see another &@#%ing word about this guy.  Not one.

Time to focus on our other QB targets for 2010 like.......

    Hey, basketball!!!
Yeah, that's basically it. Hate that Mullen connection though because if it wasn't for that I think we are in the lead to land him...

Another miss @ a QB recruit... :flush:

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Sammy Lamur.

...the legend grows.

Seriously guys, who in the hell really thinks that this guy has what it takes...or put another way, who thinks this guy is materially better than Allen Webb?

All the same signs are there....Not good enough to play QB for anyone else - CHECK.  Too dim to learn the playbook - CHECK.  Surrounded by even worse alternatives and therefore makes him look serviceable in practice - CHECK.

You will NOT convince me that this guy is any good.  If he was, he'd be playing.  Are we suppose to fracking believe that Old Balls will pull out all the stops at every other position on the field, and go to the lengths that he has with the program in other very crazy ways  :peek:, yet some how he is fracking "saving" this jem quarterback?

GTFOOMF with stupid crap right now.

While everyone here assumes CH will be a receiver, I'd bet he is the starting qb next year at this time.  If we landed a decent qb I would say differently.

Harper and DThomas in the backfield has me kind of giddy thinking about our rushing attack...

but remember...Roberson could throw the ball a little too and we had James Terry(03) and Taco Wallace(02). Ya know, steady targets. (ya hear that Lamark)?

This is the backup plan according to TP (he posted more about this situation on the premium board)

Sarkesian didn't want him to play QB, so he left.

Quote
"Our quarterback is a big, big guy," Swade said of the 6-foot-6, 250-pound Blackman. "He will fool you. He kind of reminds me of the (Jamarcus Russell) kid with the Raiders or (Dante) Culpepper. He's that type of quarterback. Not saying he's at that level yet, but that type, if you know what I mean. He's still in the proving grounds, but he's on his way. He's got a big arm."

Swade said Blackman left Washington due to a variety of reasons, among them an expected switch to the tight end position.

"He wants to play quarterback," Swade said, "and he can be a real good one."

Blackman demonstrated that in LAHC's season opener, throwing for 535 yards and six touchdowns in a wild 71-48 victory over Long Beach City College. He also rushed for a touchdown on a day when the Seahawks recorded 737 yards in total offense.

JC Gridiron has him ranked as the #2 dual threat juco QB, behind Cam.

lamark has actually been pretty good (when we've thrown to him).  it's just that when we throw to him we throw out routes and stops.  i'd like for snyds to fracking mix in a wr screen to that mf'er once every 11 games or so.

How does this come into play?

So Blackman is now at Harbor, having used up only one semester of eligibility.

I get how it helps in basketball, but how does it help in football?

LOLLERS!!! Read his own comments at the end!

Looks like he entered in Jan 2009, because he couldn't get in the fall of 2008.

So, I guess he never saw the field as a Huskie? :dunno:  http://www.gohuskies.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/blackman_dominique00.html

Yep, he'll be some kind of weird version of a three-to-play-three guy.

He got to Harbor CC this fall.  http://www.dailynews.com/sports/ci_13259268?source=rss

Former Carson standout Dominique Blackman takes over at quarterback after leaving the University of Washington. His goal this year is to throw for 4,000 yards and even though Harbor's top three pass catchers from 2008's prolific offense are gone, Blackman has plenty of weapons around him

If you're some kind of physical freak like Blackman that nobody knows what to do with could there possibly be a better place to go than K-State?
Is your life so sad that KSU football isn't enough?

So he's actually a 4 to play 3 guy.  Not that I think he'd redshirt if he came here but he's a young guy who could be around awhile.  Not sure what our chances are with him but I would be damn glad to be able to get him here.   Might even say I'd rather have him then Newton since he has the extra year to play and doesn't have the baggage.

That's the thing, I think the "extra" year really only amounts to a semester...which is the entire regular season.  He may have to sit out on his Senior year bowl game  :ohno:

haven't you heard? Snyder is driving the program into the ground. There will be no bowl game.

Nope, but literally did laugh out loud when I read that.

Crabtree is running around saying that we gave him a "conditional" offer or some such crap.  Need to get an update on that.
