Heard this too from someone who caught a couple practices.  Gregory on the sideline watching.  Very strange considering it's senior day.

Didn't Gregory have his Senior day two years ago at USF?

snyder doesn't owe gregory a f^cking thing. snyder just cares about winning. not about hurt feelings. besides, i'm pretty sure this is just a one game thing and grant will be back on the field against nebraska. he gives us a better chance in THAT game.

Heard same thing.  Also, absolutely no Wildcat formation practiced.  Either Snyds thinks they have it perfected or he knows MU too tough against the run.

:steadymobbin':  <---- except mu's defense against the run.

I have a very hard time believing this. Why would we try to change our identity as a team? If we're going to beat Mizzou, we're going to do it running the ball. We couldn't beat LaLa passing the ball with Coffman. How would we beat Mizzou? We need to play our game offensively (running the ball) and count on our defense to stop them. It would be a huge mistake imo to deviate from our most effective offensive threat.

like him or hate him, coffman is 6'4 and has a cannon for an arm. we need to throw vs MU and gregory simply doesn't have the skills.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

If rumor is true, I have the same sinking feeling just like I had walking into Memorial Stadium in Lawrence in 2004 when I heard/saw Allen Webb was the staring QB.

We will know in less than 24 hours.  But for damn sure Bill will do what he thinks we need to do to beat MU.  Maybe he is doing it to spite Chase.

I don't think we do need to throw the ball. We didn't need to throw the ball to beat ku, ATM, CU......we need to do what we've been doing-run the ball down their damn throats and win the turnover battle.

Crazy to me how people who weren't at the LaLa game don't realize how absurdly awful and wet the weather was that day.  Not that Turn-Your-Head-And-Coffman's passing would've been much better, but I can guarantee it would've been better than it was.

Also, I find this thread hard to believe.

Gregory is the starter, will play the entire game unless he doesn't perform.  That is a fact.  Whoever is talking aroung the water cooler has no clue.

Why would we go away from running it against Mizzou when we ran fairly well against OU's D. Is MU's run D better than OU's. Seems more like Snyder is trying to get some info out there so Pinkel has more to plan for??

Seriously?! Coffman with a cannon for an arm? It may be stronger than Gregory's, but he really didn't light up the scoreboard when he played. I find it highly unbelievable that Snyder would start Coffman.

I like the underscores in your handle.  Very elite.

also rumors of coffman and lamark hooking up repeatedly in practice. the two have apparently really established a good rhythm. veritable game of pitch and catch between those two.

A buddy of mine, who lives in Peculiar MO, bumped into Paul Coffman at the Flying J truckstop on 71 highway yesterday evening.  Paul said they are going to use Carson on obvious passing downs....they have a new formation kinda like the "Wildcat" is for running the ball,  but they call Carson's the "Sparrow."

Snyder is a mad scientist.

like him or hate him, coffman is 6'4 and has a cannon for an arm but can't hit the broad side of Mark Mangino. We need to throw vs MU and gregory simply doesn't have the skills but at least he complete more than 25% of his passes.

FYP above.

Doesn't it seem logical that we'll see both QB's, with Coffman coming in obvious passing downs or to try and catch Mizzou's secondary off-guard with a deep ball or two.
