I know we didn't give gifts to him but it would blow if we signed him and then later on in the season the NCAA &*$@!ed us over because Mayo accepted gifts from other schools. If OJ received money from people unaffiliated with K-State the worst thing that could happen to us is that OJ becomes inelligible.  Most likely it would only be for part of a season (recall DarnellJackson at ku and Kareem Ruch at Mizzou).

not really.  Jackson got punished by being suspended those games.  ku got their scholarships reduced partly becaue of the Jackson thing and partly for the other stuff.  the school can get in trouble, do not worry about that.

Aww, jeez--AGAIN with the O.J. drama.  Come on, does anyone realistically think he's going to wind up at KSU?  The only reason I'd be glad to have him is because he's a true PG, which we're sorely lacking.  We've got a stable full of "combo guards," but only Clent is a true PG.  Some people might throw some heat my way, but--I'm honestly not sure that having him in Manhattan for ONE YEAR would be worth the circus that would likely follow him.  I don't know--I haven't been on this forum for a long time, I'm sure you've all hashed this out dozens of times.  I guess all we can do is wait and see what happens.

As for Walker, he has not been talking to the media. Efforts to reach him have been fruitless, and North College Hill athletic director Joe Nickel said the family made it clear they don't want anything leaked.

Walker not talking was good for KSU.  It's reasonable to assume, as others have suggested, that Mayo not talking is also good for KSU.

If the best case against the Mayo to KSU theory is that Mayo may not be cleared to play by the NCAA, should we really be worried that he wouldn't be playing at KSU?

Yes.  I think "outside interests" wanted him to "self promote" more than he did.

ku got punished for the Jackson thing because the guy who was giving Jackson extra benefits is/was a ku booster.   Had he not been a ku booster it would not have been a violation for ku.
