I am not making this up, the ku announcer who calls all the coaches/players by their 1st names and whose play-by-play consists primarily of expressing varying degrees of outrage at blown calls by officials, is asking Mangino a question and refers to "Darren Sproyles, who you coached at K-State".

There is an awkward pause as Mangino attempts to compose a coherent response while restraining himself from punching the guy, and eventually he says something like "His name is Darren SPROLES and I never coached him."

I used to complain about Wyatt, but never again.  Well, other than the end-over-ender kickoffs.

Bob Davis, like our Wyatt, a Fort Hays Tiger...
Most college pbp guys suck, the only difference is K-State fans do not like their sucky guy...
Ever heard Bob Barry at OU? Makes Wyatt sound like Mitch Holthus, Greg Sharpe and Kevin Harlan rolled into one....

Oh boy, I listened to him (I think) last week during the Nebraska game, and I was wondering if that was some sort of Saturday Night Live skit or something, it was so bad.

    The "other" KSU
Nobody and I mean NOBODY homers like Jim Rose does at nubb. There is a soundbite out there on youtube when we beat the hell out of nubb in Lincoln(Pelini post-game meltdown/cursefest at Snyder in the middle of the field). Dude sounded like he should have been on suicide watch.

Bob Davis is the booth official as far as I can tell, except he doesn't get to enforce his calls.  He complains about it a lot, too.  When ku loses, then he rants about what the outcome of the game SHOULD HAVE been had it been officiated properly.

When you're stuck covering a loser for 40 some-odd years, complaining about the officials is all you have.

Also yes, Barry is probably the worst I've ever heard.

[no change in inflection whatsoever]: "They're handing the ball off ... mumble mumble ... it's going to be down at the 35 ... and they rule it a fumble, Texas ball ... was that a fumble? ... mumble mumble ... Texas ball."

That's why he quit and they now have Greg Sharpe.  He's got to be the only pbp man to quit because he couldn't handle his team losing.
Is your life so sad that KSU football isn't enough?

What would it take to find someone as awesome as Mitch again?

Mitch was awesome. (had a smoking hot wife)  When he did the weekly Coaches show he would draw the state of Kansas and put a dot from where ever the call was coming from.  Talk about knowing you fan base.  Wyatt and Stan W. might be able to find Manhattan on a map.

A couple weeks ago Bob was asking Mangino about the new turf and how the crown had been removed.  "Coach that field is probably pretty fat... FLAT... now compared to before huh?"  -pause-  "yeah, it's a lot flatter."

Bob is great! It's like watching two different channels at the same time.  Reesing takes a sack and Bob's gushing about how Sparkles was one man away from a touchdown.  Don't even get started in basketball.  ku players runs over a guy and will be signalling to Seff 'My Bad'.  Bob's take: Officials not letting the kids play, or he was moving, or should have been a no call.

At the time Sharp replaced Mitch,  Mitch couldn't carry Sharp's jock.  Mitch has improved greatly since he left.  Too bad Sharp chose to work for that Georgia company rather than his alma mater.  Compared to others Wyatt is alright,  but Mitch and Sharp are hard acts to follow.
