Realistically? Spangles. In a dream world? Dave and Busters.

early in the thread peptalk... where in town would you put your business and why do you think there should be one?

i wanted a taco bell on the east side of town and a starbucks seven years ago. they are both there now. my choices now are chikfila outside of the union or whataburger. both near campus or on seth childs. that freaking taco hut/ booyah pizza place woulda been perfecto. but neither are possible due to franchise type rule things (i think).

one thing is for sure. no more sub shops in aggieville. jfc. check back in five years and i guarantee one of them is gonzo.

Spangles- Probably over by Mcallisters.

Dave and Busters- Somewhere on Seth Child. Has to be by the theater.

ewx4 (as much as i hate to say it) may have the best option in spangles. basically cause it seems the most realistic. i don't think mhk is close enough to the cow place in okahoma to get a braums. plus a lot of wichita people go to ksu. wichita people love spangles. not totally sure how the steven fam does the spangles thing though. do they really franchise it out?

I was gonna put my Dunkin Donuts near the Union but I can't think of anywhere off hand that would be perfect.  Somewhere midtown Anderson/Bluemont as you would need easy access by auto and prolly a drive through.  Medium to small parking lot would probably suffice.

Krispy Kreme
Bruegger's Bagels
Moe's (way better than Chipotle)

Near KSU campus.  I'd invest in any of those.

I typed this before I knew it was supposed to be realistic.  I'm not sure you could get in on any major fanchise action because the rights are already owned or something, correct?

it doesn't have to be realistic. kinda fun just to talk about. then fun to figure out which ones are realistic and which ones aren't.

i do think that you can get in on some major franchises and not on others. it just depends. they are all different.

take subway for example....they screw their frachisees (not sure if that's a word) over. let's say that you own the subway in aggieville and another person approaches subway about opening up a subway on claflin. subway will prob say "sure, no prob". you are then left with your subway in aggieville knowing that a good portion of your customers are just going to go to claflin or wherever. some franchises will "protect" you though and not allow this. they are all just very different.

Five Guys Burgers and Fries would work, cheap hamburgers and fries that taste awesome.  Low overhead, easy to prepare.   Who other than Ghandi doesn't like great + cheap hamburgers?

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Don't understand the Dunkin Donuts.  People used to bring Krispy Kremes back from KC by the dozen.  No one does that with Dunkin Donuts.

For the life of me I cannot figure out how 5 guys makes money.  Delicious food no doubt.  But how do you charge McDonalds prices with less turnout and a better product that almost certainly costs more to make  :dunno:  I mean, I get that they only have burgs/dogs/fries but...still.

no clue whatsoever here but dunkin donuts seems to be making a resurgance, has really hit the coffee market, prob has extremely low overhead.

was wondering how they make money today while i was eating there.  one of the things about mcdonalds is that they have a lot higher operating expense than FGBF given that they have about a million more locations.    i can tell you that my double bacon cheeseburger w/ jalapeno and grilled onions wouldn't cost me $5.50 to make and they're paying a ton less than I would.

Noodles & Company could do well in the Aggieville area.

Waterway gas and carwash out by westloop/new fancy side of town.

Pei Wei Chinese in Aggieville area (Made by the P.F. Chang's folks, but cheaper).

Saw some suggestions for Dunkin' Donuts.  A franchisee in KC is opening almost 20 of them in KC area in the coming weeks/months.

Things I wouldn't mind having:

Culvers
Perkins
Steak n' Shake
IMO's pizza (never happen, but a guy can dream)

Things I'm glad we don't have:

Golden Corral
Denny's
Boston Market
Old Country Buffet

i've thought about the pew wei a lot. f@ck. i dunno. i mean yeah, but mhk is still kinda small. i think it would do great in a good location like chipotle or starbucks but you really need a good location imo. i guess you could say that for all these things though.

carwashes and storage places never go out of business so i guess they'd be great too.
