He was and still is the official mascot of the Boozecats . And a great mascot at that. I was never embarrassed. Occasionally, I was embarrassed for him, but only because he was really poor at dressing himself.

Of course it does!  He ran off 5 star recruit Jason Bennett! 

In college, he played his freshman season at Kansas State under then head coach Bob Huggins.
Bennett found Huggins to be a loud, profane, in-your-face kind of coach. Bennett stayed one year at Kansas State before transferring to Tallahassee Junior College.
Highlights of his freshman year included playing against "The General," legendary coach Bob Knight, and Texas Longhorn standout and current NBA star Kevin Durant.
In addition, he enjoyed visiting the famed Allen Fieldhouse at Kansas, Oklahoma State and the University of California's Haas Pavilion, the biggest arena he has yet to compete in.
After a year at Tallahassee, Bennett was recruited to play at the University of Detroit Mercy. He appreciates the approach - and calm - of first-year Titan coach Ray McCallum, and he enjoys playing for him.
"Coach is not an in-your-face guy at all," he said. "He will simply tell you how it is and how it's done. He talks to you like a man, and he treats you with great respect. I have also never heard Coach cuss once. I have a lot of respect for Coach."

The most embarrassing thing about the Huggins era was the press conference that Weefer, Captain Kangaroo and Loan Boy called to announce he was leaving.   Quite possibly the most disgraceful media moment in Kansas State University History, an event that single handily made "Crush Dove Driveway Press Conference" or "I'm stayinpolloza"  appear absolutely normal.
