Watch ADJC's reaction to the question about Coach Snyder's future. The clip I saw last night on the 10:00 news on WIBW was different where it was basically said that "he has a lifetime contract but has given the indication that he'd like to leave sooner rather than later"

I was not one of those people completely pissed off that he was rehired for this job but if he retires after just a year or two I will be pissed off.  Basically, that would mean we misssed out on Patterson for nothing.  He may have "calmed the waters" but he did not stay long enough to build the program back up for someone else to take over.

Flip side to that is if he stays so long we can't go after him again cuz he goes somewhere high profile.

Do you feel that way if we win the north this year?

the thing is that even if we win the big 12 this year or win a national championship the next year, the next coach would probably have a pretty good chance of sucking with all the same players. it seems like snyder's coaching really does get the most out of players. they just play harder and more passionately under him than others. he expects the same work ethic from his players that he has himself and players (except for 05 and 06 possibly) try to give him that kind of effort and it works.

so it's not about getting the program to a certain point because although snyder did have lots of talent he had to have good teams first to draw the talent in. snyder's early good teams were probably just crap teams that played hard.

what we need when he leaves is a coach that can inspire players to play harder than the competition. that alone is not going to win games, but it builds the foundation for decent teams and improving levels of talent.

snyder is doing the same thing with prince's players that huggins did with wooly's players

He was asked last night on his coaches show to clarify his comment about his current tenure and he said he would be here as long as the program is on a sustainable path.  He said that his contract is for another 5 years and he will probably be here for at least that long.  His grandson, tate, is joining the team next year and will likely redshirt/grey shirt. Coach will be here until Tate graduates, at least, or for as long as he continues in good health.

You guys have what is most likely the best coach in the history of the Big 12, let him come and go as he pleases!!! Bill Snyder is a genius and does not deserve any negative remarks if he leaves after next season. I'm envious that you guys got Bill Snyder to begin with... I hope you can take my envy and turn it into even more praise for the man who put you on the map... regardless of how much longer he stays. You guys are getting two more years of a genius running your football program... appreciate it!!!

Agreed.  It's really a funny dynamic amongst K-State fans.  Many wanted him back because of his legend.  Many didn't want him back because of 2004-2006.

Then, when he returned, many hoped that he would only be here a few years.  Now that the Big XII North is served up on a platter for us, these same people will be pissed if he leaves after only a few years.

Naysayers wuill come and go.  But, at the end of the day, winning cures all doubt.  If we find a way to win 2 out of the next 3 games, Snyder will be here as long as he so desires.  If, however, he does not win 2, it will be interesting to see how K-Staters react.  No bowl.  No Championship Game.  No nothing.  Another 5-7 season down the drain.  I'm optimistic that we win both of our remaining home games.

This type of season is unprecedented.  The difference between disaster and euphoria is 2 games.  There's really no middle ground.

I don't consider 5-7 a disaster, but I get your point.

I don't consider 5-7 a disaster, but I get your point.

Even 5-7 would have shocked me preseason if someone told me "K-State will go 5-7." I'd have laughed myself to death if someone told me K-State would go 5-7 following the LA-Lafayette loss. Now, I think its a disappointment... wow... the difference 3 months makes.

I am saying the exact same things about Iowa State. It's amazing how 4-8 sounded so promising at the beginning of this year following Chiz 2-10, but now 5-7 seems like a major disappointment following our win in Lincoln.

If Iowa State MUST be in 2nd place (or 3rd now  :-[) I'd hope its Kansas State over the alternatives... Mizzou, Nebby, Colo, Kansas. It's not because I love you, its because I don't hate you like the aforementioned 4 schools.
