Yes, Bill Snyder will "pick" the next Coach after John Currie gives his approval.   It's pretty simple kids, read Bill Snyder's contract and see how many times it says something like, "with the approval of the Athletic Director" and get back to me . . . and no, that's not some token BS wording like it was with the Weefer and Krause around, it's a whole new ballgame in the KSU athletic department.

Completely agree with SD on Whitlock and KK, but I would expand that to include many fanbases.

He sounded like crap.  I give it about an 80% chance that he has the flu.
Is your life so sad that KSU football isn't enough?

snyder is just trying to act like he like his family. face it snyd's, you have one thing in life and it's coaching EMAW football. Embrace it.

this.  he needs to realize he should coach until he dies *

*this is assuming he's successful at it.

I did not listen to it . . . a buddy sent me a message that he was going to be on.   I sent back a message giving a synopsis of what PowerTardVille was saying . . . and my buddy was all WTF . . . my buddy also said it was a completely $hit interview by Keitzman.

Anybody that would tell you that they conducted an exciting or insightful inteview with Snyder, is lying.  The man makes a ream of paper look dangerous and unpredictable.
I got:
Calming the waters
Keeping youngsters in the moment
Love it when he says youngsters, so I remembered it again
Kids investing themselves in the program
Coaches doing a better job teaching the youngsters
Perception that it's all due to him is precluded by the comments above
Does not pay attention to other teams/media outside of those he's played and Kansas
Feels it might be accurate to say that most teams only have a handful of really talented players
Mangino is a horribly fat turd and should die on his own vomit....okay so that wasn't Snyd's but I was thinking it at the time.

I quit listening to 810 a couple years ago because of crap like this, they are just into ratings which is not a bad thing for them but I found very little sports related to the station, and more gossip, nascar racing, golf talk with that old KSU golfer, cookie diets bbq grills and other boring crap. I guess it is a matter of taste but sports talk jusat isn't my thing because they have hours of air time to fill year around and most of the time there isn't enough sports to keep them occupied.

From reading what you guys have written Snyder said he is "probably not" retiring which doesn't surprise me in the least. I thnk he stays at least 4-5 years then picks his successor this time around. I think that guy is presently on his staff, sorry Patterson freaks

I will 3rd the reality that UPKS has decreed that ADJC is 100% in control of the athletic department, and everyone, including the football coach is a subordinate employee . . . it doesn't matter who they are, or how much money they're being paid, John Currie is their boss.

You couldn't be mroe wrong. Snyder will pick the next Head Coach and Currie is cool with it.

This is not accurate

So you don't think snyder will have a say in who is hired?  If Currie goes out and hires somebody like for example:Ty Willingham- and doesn't even look G. Patt's way or consider a coach on the staff already-- ADJC might be looking for another job shortly after. Currie might run the show, but he won't run the show for long if he doesn't play his cards right.

I think it's Bielma.  He's gonna crash and burn at Wiskey in the next couple of years, and Snyd's will have everything in place for a soft landing.  Snyd's for 2-3 years; Bielma HCIW an additonal 2 years; Snyd's as special consultant (in some capacity) to the program for the rest of his life.

That just sounds retarded.  First of all, it's a baseless hypothetical.  For example, I could do the same and say:  What if Snyder was given the option to pick his successor and he picked somebody terrible? Secondly, what in the hell makes you think Snyder would consider Patterson if given the option and Currie wouldn't?  I'm sure Snyder will  be asked for his input but in no way will he be allowed to name his successor...and I know this for a fact.   If one is named it's because it was Currie's decision.

SD, i'm just giving my opinion and of course the "final" decision comes down to Currie, but i think snyder will have a say in who is picked, like you just wrote- but before that, you wrote that Currie is 100% in control and basically he is Bill's boss- i assumed you meant Bill has no say at all- and if Currie does hire a nobody or try to find a diamond in the rough like Ron Prince there will be alot of unhappy people, and because of the last regime, i think alot of people expect to be disappointed.

If anything, one of the things that will keep Snyder contemplating retirement is that his AD isn't licking his old balls.  Currie is his own man, and Wefald isn't walking in that door.  The money alumns are a bagillion times bitten and twice shy of the old guard and are happy to have new blood leading KSU.  Currie has a TON of power.

I, for one, am happy about that.

"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

probably would be for the best, imo.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.
