You can't be racist and like basketball.
Ask Tyree to wait till spring so:

1)  We can continue to work on Mayo
2)  Evans can prove he can stay out of trouble

I don’t think Huggins will offer the last scholarship until spring unless a very highly rated post player (Pope?) wants to sign on the dotted line.  In the spring I think it will either go to Mayo if he decides on us, or to Evans.  If Evans doesn’t get a scholarship Huggins may ask him to continue as a JUCO for his second year, or to walk-on for a year with a promise of scholarships for his Junior and Senior years.  As has been mentioned, there may be more scholarships available at that point so the recruiting class size may be bigger than what we are anticipating...

Things have changed since Weiser made that quote.

Weiser's statements on the Evans situation has been taken out of context and blown out of proportion.

The legal situation was a HUGE unknown at the time and KSU needed to make a descision.  The legal status is now resolved and I expect KSU to give Tyree the second chance he deserves.

This team sorely needs a shooter for next year.So Tyree would be a good get, Id prefer to see him wait till spring to make sure he doesnt get in trouble. If not Tyree, then they could always fall back on Thornton.

cartier martin -- shooter supreme if we can keep him on the perimeter.

lance harris -- very solid shooter when properly motivated.

His legal status is no longer in question, for one thing.  Also, Evans is a 2007 recruit instead of 2006 and will have a year to "prove" himself.

"Indecent assault and battery".

For future reference, try www.google.com.  It's a pretty handy site.

www.rusty.com works well. A little slow, but eventually it spits out the information.

We won't ask a player as good as Tyree to walk on.  Huggins obviously knows our stance with Mayo better than we do but why would you pass on a player like Tyree Evans for a 1 in a million chance at OJ Mayo?

Evan could very well be on par with Mayo. I've alway thought that.

definately take evans.

if mayo becomes available in the spring (or earlier), free up a scholly somehow, anyhow.  but don´t wait on evans just to keep one open.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."
