V
Getting kind of excited for "V."  I was a HUGE fan as a kid, though was probably too young to be watching it.

Two most memorable moments....

When this chick ate a hamster (or whatev) and we realized that they were "something else" for the first time...

And then when the chick had the half-breed twins and the human one had a lizard tounge... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TufUH1T-F18&feature=player_embedded

Still wigged about that one.

I was 5 when the original came out. All I remember is that they were eating rats(?) before Survivor and they had green blood or something. V and Thriller were two things that didn't go well with me.

It's cool bro, it'll happen to you someday too. Kind of a right of passage.  The original was a HUGE deal, at least amongst the kids on my block.

Do you remember how their "V" suits were sort of bullet resistant or something.  Once the humans started stealing their lasers and stuff things changed a bit.

Here's what always bothered me....were we to assume that the lizard people had smaller heads than we do?  How else could you put all the fake skin on them and avoid seeming like they all looked like Tony Asprillia? :dunno:

Damn. Was I the only one here that stayed home, from Brother's/Dark Horse, to watch this show?

SciFi ran the entire original mini-series + the final battle mini series yesterday, i watched them all (including the baby lizard's birth/death).  thought of you pete.  it was like a million hours of V madness.

some things i had forgotten:
aliens voices sounded diff
bulletproof vests forced rebels to shoot at legs, UNTIL vest shredding bullets invented
first baby's forked tongue attack on mom
conversion chambers

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

I saw that was on, so I tuned in for like 10 minutes.  Not nearly as badass as I remember.  Pretty cheezy, by todays standards anyway.  Guess that's pretty much like most other things I thought were super cool when I was like 10.  Expect parachute pants, they're totally cool looking still.

yes. big deal on my block too. it was super scary to walk home after a "v party" if the "v party" wasn't at your house. one house in particular had super big bushes by the sidewalk in between houses for me. i'd just go to the other side of the street. no way i was walking by those big bushes.  :whiteflag:

Here's the thing about the half breed twins that is most amazing.  The mother was apparently duped into sleeping with what she believed was a full human.  If that's so, then doesn't this imply that their human flesh suits were built to handle erections?  That, or this broad didn't spend too much time eye-balling the V guy's unit.

Creepy stuff.

Does anyone know if the new series will still make the V people be lizards?  Seems crazy that they'd depart from that.  But maybe they want to avoid some of the same questions that I pose above.

Was definitely my fave show at the time.  I seriously don't remember any details, except that it was the totally awesomest thing that ever was.

I remember thinking whether, or not, their units were forked like a snake's tongue. Brings a whole new meaning to the term, "Pegging".

I kinda remember being super stoaked when the humans stole one of their little mini space ship things.  I mean, it couldn't compete with the huge round ones but it was a potent weapon nonetheless.

Funny that the superior beings that traveled across the galaxy didn't have a lojack.

Yep, also I'm pretty sure V was the source material for most of Independence Day.

Was it the fact that I dressed in the "V" outfit for Halloween for four years straight that gave my identity away?   :dunno:

Even more than the outfit getting badly outdated, the truly awkward thing was that I was growing a lot in those years, so the outfit was pretty snug by the time I retired it.  Anyway, my mom put a lot of effort into it, so I wanted to really use it.

i had a name pop into my head months ago and finally googled it today. didn't get the last name spelled correctly the first time though. have no idea how i did it really. honestly pretty amazed about it still.  also, pretty sure you were a P.E. student assistant or whatever they were called for my P.E. class. identity is safe w/ me.

I liked the show. And SD- the whole Independence Day thing was referenced in the pilot. Pretty funny.

+1.  My wife and I caught it.  We both said "JFC, this is terrible".  I LMAO'd at one scene where the humans were firing machine guns into the air wildly.  Very A-Team-ish.  :scarymovie:

A couple kids were watching TV and the ships were hovering over the cities. One kid said "this is just like independence day." The other kid said "oh come on, Independence Day just ripped off every alien invasion flick before it."

So, I watched the first episode (and I am going down with the ship on this one), and the biggest question I came away with is how the &@#% can that lizard posing as a black guy really be proposing marriage to a human chick?  I mean, what would you think of a human dude who wanted to marry a lizard woman?  &@#%ing gross.
