    Hey, basketball!!!
To attack their defense:

Run it, run it, & run it. And when we are done running it, run it some more. TT tried to pass the entire game and then realized in the 4th that ku's rush defense is the suck. They then proceeded to run the ball and win by twenty. Pound Thomas @ them until they die. I'm 100% sure that Snyd's will see this on film and expose it......

For passing the ball, go at CB #20 for them. Have watched ku and almost every team throws at this kid and tries to isolate the WR that is on him because he always gets burnt.

Let's make this into a fun thread because as we know, ku has a bunch of weaknesses that we can expose. Somebody else, come up with the offensive X's & O's and some more for the D. :steadymobbin':

Their d-ends are completely inept from what I've seen this year. I'm predicting that if we aren't running the ball, then we'll be faking that look with the bootleg or the fake reverse to keep them off balance.

Banks is the slot is when he is most dangerous.

DThomas in the shotgun offset-I next to GG makes my emaw heart flutter. Reminds me of Roberson and Sproles's signature formation back in the day.

Defensivley...even a LITTLE pressure will give Sparkles reason to worry...but if we let him sit back there we are asking for trouble.

Keep ku one dimensional by not allowing any success on the ground and then all we gotta do is pin our ears back and go after the pulled groin.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

When we are on D.

1.  Reesing cannot throw the ball over the middle.  He constantly gets passes tipped and/or over throws middle targets because he is so short(not a joke just reality).

2.  To help him out ku loves to run the shovel pass to Sharp.  They also love quick hits to the sideline, and they like to move the pocket by rollout and sprint passes.  See diagram.

We have to be able to a keep Reesing....

A) In the pocket & B) under pressure

If anyone watched the OU vs. ku game they constantly kept Reesing in check and being the "gunslinger type QB he is he either throws into coverage or holds the ball to long trying to make a play.  OU kept Reesing uncomfortable by getting pressure up the middle and keeping the DE's at home to negate the sprints and roll outs.  By keeping the DE's at home you also make it harder for Reesing to make the quick sideline passes.

Oh yeah, one more thing.  As I said earlier ku loves the quick hitters to the sideline.  Hopefully VK has our DB's keen on this and we can knock down a few at the line and get a pick or two.  The risk of jumping these routes is the threat of the double move and a deep ball that burns us if we don't have safety help up top.(see Talib getting burned by Jordy :woot:)

On offense I think we just need to keep playing well and execute.  OU's defense is really &@#%ing good and we were able to move the ball pretty well for much of the game.  Snyder used a lot of offense last night there was no "vanilla" to be found.  I really think that we can pound ku with our running game but I think we will see a lot of different looks from our O on saturday the game is just to big.  Plus, you know Snyder will do anything it takes to destroy ku.

you aren't seriously comparing OU's offense to ku's are you? quit being such a closet ku homer. I'm tired of your gas.

I didnt' see any of the game last night because Independence Kansas Sucks ass and no one carries FSN so I guess I'll believe we're legit when I see it (beat ku)

OU's receivers catch and run.  Briscoe and Meyer are not near as fast.  Plus Briscoe has been dropping a lot of passes.

It's true but I would feel a lot better if Moore was healthy. He would be glued to Briscoe and wouldn't leave his side. Now who do you put on him? Harrison? Thomas? ku is pretty experienced at WR and with all of our inexperienced at CB, it doesn't match up too well.

Not really worried about them running on us because they won't really be able to...

None of the bars carry it because they have to pay more, doesn't come in the standard package.

Didn't try big cheese.

Where's the Wagon wheel?

I say throw LOTS of wildcat formation & option at them too. Make them come up and make the play, also running to the outside will challenge their DE's..

Is Reesing even going to start?

If our CB's miss tackles like they did all game against OU on little comeback routes, ku will move the ball.  Hopefully the remember how to wrap up.  Plus, Broyles and #24 >>>>>>>> Briscoe and Meier

We will run the ball with ease, and probably throw it fine against them.

ku is broken right now, they really only scored 7 points on O against TTech (fumble recovery for TD, and one to the 1 yard line).   I'm hoping they don't get it going in our house, we need to be loud. :kstatriot:

ku's pass offense is better than our pass defense moreso than our rush offense is better than their rush defense.  We do not match up well at all with their wide recievers, even if moore is in (moore, imo, has been garbage this year...might be because of injury, but he's underachieved) and we don't tackle well at all.  Our LB's are worse than ku's.  Also, you can't bank on players (sprinks, briscoe, meier) to continue to underachieve or have that as the basis for thining ksu is going to win.  At some point sprinks, meier, and briscoe will snap out of it.  And honestly,  I doubt Mang kicks it to Banks at all, so scratch that off the list.  I'm sorry, but our only saving grace is that we're at home.  That probably suppresses the score.

I'll just say this; play defense in the ball park of what we played in Norman and don't turn the ball over and the Cats likely win this game.

I just don't think we'll have the Freems 4.3 TOs per ku game factor here either, which is a big deal.  Snyder won't put his QB in position to make that many mistakes.

IMO, besides TOs, it will come down to the running game for both teams.  ku will get yards through the air, but if we limit there running game (which isn't very good) we gain a huge advantage.  And as always we absolutely have to run the ball, and with our success against OU, I feel pretty confident that we can run against ku.

Now that's how you get out a f***ing blood stain.

didn't we just give up 460 yards of offense.  also the 'mob' had the opportunity to give our offense the ball with a chance to take the lead.  is not getting a stop on 1st & 45 / 3rd & 24 the fault of the players or the coaches?

When I was a kid growing up in the projects, I used to dream of going into space, of escaping the slums, of killing an Ewok!

"in the ballpark"

IMO OU has better athletes and a better O-line than ku plus we're at home, so a similar performance will not result in 42 points.  Of course we can't have the aweful start and the 1st and 45 conversion nonsense.

I am sick of hearing, "I don't think there is a better 'pitch and catch combo' in the country than Sparkles/Brisco/Meier."

OU's RBs (and wide receivers) were getting an extra 5+ yards after contact on almost every run the other night. This will probably lose the game for us if it happens on Saturday. We haven't tackled Jake Sharp worth a crap in the past (even though he is pretty average compared to OU's backs.) We have to show some of the physicality that we had around the LOS vs aTm.

Gotta flash this emoticon for the 1st time:

 :steadymobbin': :steadymobbin': :steadymobbin':

That made my EMAW feel even better than I thought it would.

game pretty much depends on whether ukans decides to hand us 14 pts like they have everyone else in the big 12 this year.  if we dont get any non-off tds or super short fields a time or 2 i think we lose.  gotta have an ugly game like isu/cu games.

This, but their OL is young. It will help a lot if we can consistently get a good pass rush on Reesing.
