and its probably a good thing. But Josh Cherry is 4-4 in conference play, none of those over 40 yards but still. Hopefully we don't have to complain about him the rest of the way.

That's how it should be.  Unless you are talking about a FG kicker being aweful or hitting a game winner, they pretty much are forgotten.  Not a bad thing.  Unless of course they are kind of a freak like Gramatica.

A friend of mine who works with his aunt was told his early problems came from practicing into a net.  He'd change his movement a little so as not to hit the net.  TIFWIW, sounded a little weird to me.  Why not just practice into goalposts?

If you can't hit a net 3 feet in front of the ball, how the hell did he ever expect to hit it through the goalposts from 40 yards out.  :banghead: He must have given up the net

What did he think he supposed to hit?

Crap.  By posting this you broke the official unofficial karma of keeping the issue on the down low so that real life superstitiony things don't kick in.

If he misses a kick now just remember it is your fault and by real EMAW standards you must either kill yourself (or do something just as seriously bad to yourself to pay penance, such as licking Mangino's butt - but that should be fatal as well, I hope).

I think he was worried about hitting the bars on the net with his leg, so he adjusted his mechanics for net kicking as opposed to goalpost kicking.

so he's doing his job. awesome!
If missing fg in the LALA game so we lose is doing his job; then he's employee of the FRACKING year.

Cherry on top — Since conference play began, kicker Josh Cherry has made all four of his field goals. That's quite a turnaround considering he made just one in K-State's first four games.  "I've turned bad habits into good habits and become a lot more confident kicking," Cherry said.
